2004 was a good year, but your Gmail address doesn't need to be stuck in it.
To say goodbye to [email protected] or [email protected] (or whatever you were into at the time), go to your Google Account settings and choose any name available. You'll keep your old username and you can sign in with both.
@KristyT TJs is good for a few things for me: I love their European style plain yogurt (thin and tangy, I’m not a fan of thick Greek yogurt)
And their cheeses and nuts are the best quality for the price that I’ve found.
Won’t buy meat or produce though - spoils fast
@KristyT So if you have options: visit the schools, talk to the parents who have older kids in the school about their experience in both K and upper grades. That was enlightening
@KristyT I’m fortunate to live in an area that has well funded public schools (Northern VA) that also has different program options (eg Montessori, STEM focus, language immersion). It’s important to seek out places where your kids will thrive.
Just got an AI robo-call from Allstate. not a customer but picked up bc it wasn’t labeled “potential spam” The audio drops at the end of each sentence gave it away.
Me: “I can tell you’re AI, bye”
It: “I’m not AI! My favorite color is purple!”

@intellegint Maryland is literally split in this map. The far left part of the state is colored orange when it should be yellow.
Anyways, Northern Virginia is not the South. That starts outside of the beltway.
@KristyT I sent my kids to a sleep away camp for seven years that had a no screens policy. 1-2 weeks each summer was a great break from videos and social media, they loved it.
@JimSmith1278@Ramsey_Kilani@DavidAstinWalsh Not an expert there, but my guess would be businesses not wanting to invest in more technology when their margins are already thin and what they have is working for most customers
@JimSmith1278@Ramsey_Kilani@DavidAstinWalsh That also sounds great! Still, not the norm here in the U.S. It’s common for places like Starbucks and counter service restaurants, but our bars have some catching up to do.
@Ramsey_Kilani@DavidAstinWalsh Most bars and restaurants in the U.S. don’t have the portable terminals that they bring to your seat or table to tap to pay. The server or bartender needs to take your card, swipe it on their main terminal, then bring you paper to sign.
