We've been investigating the flooding which took place in July 2021 and are now gathering any last-minute data.
If you experienced flooding in or close to where you live or work, or anywhere else in #LBRuT during July 2021, please tell us here ⬇️

@LadyDetectives1@UKIP The most amazing solutions to climate change (renewable energy, reducing waste, ending/ improving industries which pollute the environment, living more closely with nature) are all things which will benefit everyone 🌍
@minxyminx1952@nannypicker @Dominiquetaegon As you've mentioned, it's predicted to heal. Unless the Montreal protocol is broken and we start releasing CFCs again, this problem is going to sort itself out. Also the hole is at the south pole, over Antarctica. I'd rather focus attention on carbon - global worsening impacts.
@iamnotapixel@AlanGrinch @Glenntwts @Dominiquetaegon Also no matter how quickly we adapt people will still have to cope with this changing climate, which will put countries with lower GDP and capacity to adapt at higher risk. E.g. Pakistan and the devastating flooding this year. We may survive but it will come at a cost to life
@Dominiquetaegon @completechimp It's not just one climate scientists, there is global scientific consensus that climate change is happening. All funded from different pots, countries, political backgrounds
@minxyminx1952@nannypicker @Dominiquetaegon Or rather, what humanity and our current ecosystems can cope with. The planet will persist, it's whether we want to save ourselves from mass extinction events and millions of deaths due to climate change (which are already happening - see floods in Pakistan, more heat deaths etc)
@minxyminx1952@nannypicker @Dominiquetaegon The hole in the ozone layer is healing itself because we banned harmful CFCs (which were causing the issue) internationally. It hasn't taken a backseat, we have pretty much solved the problem. Carbon emissions are still massively over what the planet can cope with.
@feyiszn The yearly interest on my savings account is calculated based on an accumulation of what's in there on a daily basis, so even if the extra money is only in there for 24 hours my interest at year-end is still slightly more :)
