@Donna_Rachel_ @Brink_Thinker It was a 2p for me, and only for dire emergencies. Alternative was phone home from the phone box 5 miles away and let it ring 3 times then hang up. That way you got your 2p back, then waited up to an hour for dad to pick you up at the phone box. I was a coddled child.

After chemo (no hair), in a toilet block washing my hands and a woman walked up from behind. I looked up. She said “OMG, I thought you were a fella”. We laughed, because I’m not, and she knew in 2 seconds.

@bindelj If you can’t take deep breaths because of the pain, ask your GP for stronger painkillers. If you can’t take deep breaths, there’s a risk of chest infection. I’m at 6 weeks now and had prescribed painkillers for weeks 3 & 4. Would send hugs but … 😂

We honeymooned in Alaska in 1998 for 3 weeks without a single prebooked night. Camped, stayed in B&Bs, turned up at hotels on spec. No problem.

@redgierob I read to my daughter well past the age where she was reading for herself. When she was about 12 and a voracious reader, we still had a book on the go that I would read or she would read to me if my eyes were tired. Reading out loud is a joy.
