HERE COMES THE HEAT: We are expecting the hottest weather so far this year in Alabama this weekend and next week. Some notes...
*If you are new here, highs in the 90s are not unusual in summer at this latitude. It is expected.
*TV stations will declare "code red heat emergencies", and other media outlets go totally hyperbolic with jacked up heat index maps and scary graphics. And, they give you "heat tips" like "go into a room with air conditioning" and "stay out of the sun". I fully believe those that follow this page know this and don't need some TV nitwit treating you like a three year old.
*However, as temperatures rise, it IS crucial to know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. One is a warning, the other is a life-threatening emergency.
*These are the symptoms of heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, faintness or dizziness, cool/pale/clammy skin, nausea, and a rapid but weak pulse.
*These are the symptoms of heat stroke: throbbing headache, NO sweating (hot, red, dry skin), body temperature above 103°F, rapid/strong pulse, confusion, or loss of consciousness. This is when you call 911 immediately.

To worry is to imagine an outcome you do not desire. It’s to dwell upon a loss that has not happened. Do the inverse, think of what will happen if you win. If everything works out. If you truly succeed. Stay the course.
NEVER DOOM.
🌩 An incredible sunset over Nebraska is going viral online
The footage was captured today in Sidney, Nebraska, during a powerful storm.
The photographer managed to capture a massive supercell — one of the rarest and most spectacular types of storm clouds. These systems are often responsible for the strongest tornadoes, giant hail, and extreme rainfall.
Looks more like a scene from a disaster movie than real life.
