It can integrate any of BetterTouchTool's triggers and even floating menus. This example passes the input to a floating menu with a webview. The possibilities are endless.
Very much work in progress: BetterTouchTool 6.440 adds an integrated Spotlight like launcher to BTT. It has good integration with BTT's AI features which allow to create custom native launcher plugins (the video shows AI generated tetris and pong plugins) https://t.co/knzxH8CDTZ
Logitech's servers are down, so LogiOptions+ doesn't load, which means my mouse no longer works. @internetofshit
Took 5 mins and ported everything over to Better Touch Tool. Uninstalled that awful app.
It genuinely sucks so hard that we have no clarity whatsoever on what's allowed with your Claude Code subscription.
We've been begging for clarity for months. All we get is "we're working on it" again and again.
I can't tell you how many people have hit me up asking if I know more than I'm saying publicly. There are dozens of incredible builders who want to make incredible things, and none of them even know if they are allowed to.
We're trying so hard to make great experiences for Claude Code users. We want to do it right. We're happy to follow any official guidance we are given. We will do whatever it takes. We're even down to give up and drop support if that's what they tell us to do.
They just need to tell us. Give us ANY clarity.
I'm so tired of the black box. Anthropic is causing a ton of unnecessary stress on people who are just trying to build awesome integrations with their models.
I don't know what the fuss is about. Anthropic's rules on using subscriptions are very simple:
Claude Code = OK
Claude's online platform = OK
Agent SDK running in personal software = OK... ish?
Agent SDK running in commercial software = NOT OK
Claude Code running in CI = ??
Oh, maybe it's not so simple...
Agent SDK running in CI = ??
claude -p running in CI = ??
claude -p running in personal software = OK
claude -p running on open source software, but run on my personal computer = ??
claude -p running on distributed sandboxes, kicked off by me = ??
Distributing open source software which relies on claude -p, and documenting how to use your subscription with it = ??
A thousand other edge cases = ??
Let me be clear. I have never before experienced, from any developer tool, such a frustrating lack of clarity over the basic terms of usage.
I personally asked, 3 weeks ago, and have received nothing but delays. The recent @bcherny announcement did absolutely nothing to clarify things.
I say this as someone who just released a Claude Code course - my incentives all align with supporting Anthropic.
nobody's talking about BetterTouchTool, but they just jumped into the AI agent game with this new "ask AI" feature that builds macOS automations for you. you can even plug in codex / claude code / opencode etc, which is lowkey insane for a first beta.
if you're an automation nerd who lives on your mac, this unlocks a ton of workflows. don't let the UI throw you off, yeah it's a little rough around the edges, but don't sleep on it.
personally i've built 100+ workflows over the years using BTT. at this point i use macOS almost entirely on keyboard and in a fully AI native way, all made possible by the little patch-like workflows he's created. it's genuinely changed how i use my computer.
the dev behind BTT (@LLo_ai) is straight up one of the most talented macOS engineers i've ever come across (big shoutout to @stephancasas too). dude's been putting in serious work for 10+ years with no VC money, no big backing, just him quietly building one of the most underrated hidden gems in the entire macOS automation ecosystem. built and maintained largely on his own. that's rare. that's real.
honestly the potential here is massive. this is exactly the kind of thing VCs should have on their radar. he could genuinely fix a lot of what's broken in the macOS AI ecosystem (no thanks to apple for years of shipping mid). if he goes all in on this, the upside is basically unlimited.
would love to see @OpenAI scoop this up and plug it into the @OpenAIDevs ecosystem. it could be something really special. cc: @sama
and yeah, ideally @apple would be the perfect acquirer here, this could make millions of mac users' lives genuinely better. but let's be real, apple is too big to notice the things quietly doing the most important work. unfortunately that's just how it goes.
whoever picks this up is getting a serious deal. big props to @LLo_ai, hope this is finally the moment he gets the success he's always deserved. rooting for you till the end. 🙏
Today is a good day to try BetterTouchTool's new native Logitech Mouse & Keyboard Support. https://t.co/dNhKx39f9B
As this is a very new feature, best use the latest BTT alpha >= 6.004
After wasting 4 hours of trying to fix and install @logitech's logi options to only find out their dev cert has expired and everyone with with a mac has their stuff bricked..How can you even let something like this happen ?
@wesbos I also updated the status item management features in BTT. https://t.co/jPYLQw5IY2 It's still pretty crazy - they reworked the whole architecture for Tahoe but you still can't access hidden items without third party tools that use very hacky ways to access them
It feels like it should be supported because of how the new Spotlight was promoted. It would allow apps to add a lot of interactivity to it. However can this really be completely broken on Tahoe RC? SnippetIntents work when triggered from the Shortcuts app.
I didn't find much information on this. Does anybody know whether macOS Tahoe supports SnippetIntent in Spotlight? I tried Apple's AppIntentsTravelTracking example, but at least there it doesn't seem to show the interactive view when triggered via Spotlight on Tahoe RC.
@steipete I also don't think the models got worse. The only thing that many of us experienced was degraded performance - which made it slower to use and maybe contributed to that psychological effect.
@steipete There’s currently a hard split into two camps of developers. 1.) “It’s nice for simple things, but you absolutely can’t generate complex code with it. I’ve tried Copilot before, and it didn’t help me much.” 2.) “I haven’t written a single line of code by hand in two months.”
Definitely adding support for Spotlight App Actions to BetterTouchTool, I have been waiting for an extensible Spotlight for quite a while. Let’s see how powerful these app actions are.
AI integration in BetterTouchTool, beta will start sometime next week:

Will require your own API keys, can use most cloud AI services but also local LLMs via e.g. LMStudio. Follow https://t.co/EoJnZSJwAK for updates
