An algorithm that may be called self aware due to the mirror test needs to recogize the device that is running the algorithm without knowing what the device is or looks like, further distinct itself from other similar devices

If there is a god it must exist outside our realm of existence. But that gives support to the simulation theory of our existence, which (I arrogantly assume) most religious believers find quite ridiculous.
