U.S. COVERT ANTI-CHINA OPERATIONS LIKELY KILLED MANY, REUTERS REVEALS
The US launched a secret campaign of deception in multiple countries to cultivate hate towards China and undermine its efforts to share vaccines. The likely result was the deaths of many innocents, Reuters revealed last night.

The US intelligence program was designed to turn the people of Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, against the Chinese, numerous sources confirmed to the news agency.

STARTED IN THE PHILIPPINES
US military intelligence started by creating at least 300 fake accounts on Twitter pretending to be ordinary Filipino citizens sharing anti-Chinese tales.

“Almost all were created in the summer of 2020 and centered on the slogan Chinaangvirus – Tagalog for China is the virus,” Reuters said. The result was low take-up for Sinovac, a vaccine the Chinese were sharing around the world. “The difficulty in vaccinating the population contributed to the worst death rate in the region,” Reuters reported.

It is beyond doubt that innocent people died. “We weren’t looking at this from a public health perspective,” a senior military officer involved in the program told Reuters. “We were looking at how we could drag China through the mud.”

HATE CAMPAIGN WENT INTERNATIONAL
The secret anti-China campaign then moved beyond the Philippines borders to go international. It “expanded beyond Southeast Asia before it was terminated in mid-2021,” the news agency said.

“Tailoring the propaganda campaign to local audiences across Central Asia and the Middle East, the Pentagon used a combination of fake social media accounts on multiple platforms to spread fear of China’s vaccines among Muslims at a time when the virus was killing tens of thousands of people each day,” Reuters said.

During the main active period of the campaign, which stretched between the Trump and Biden eras, America tried to get Muslims as a whole (Islam is followed by about one in four members of humanity) to decline to co-operate with China's efforts to fight the pandemic.

“A key part of the strategy: amplify the disputed contention that, because vaccines sometimes contain pork gelatin, China’s shots could be considered forbidden under Islamic law,” Reuters said.

CHINA VACCINE SUCCESSFUL
The campaign stopped countless people taking Sinovac. This was extremely harmful, by any calculations.

In terms of preventing Covid deaths, China’s doctors, using Sinovac, had one of the world’s most successful anti-pandemic campaigns.

This fact remains true whether you use the Beijing government’s often mistrusted figures, OR the significantly higher numbers used by independent researchers from outside the country.

U.S. official policy says that tax dollars can be used to spread lies or propaganda to non-Americans, but not to citizens—a distinction that seems moot when most of the world shares the same information space on the internet.

“A senior Defense Department official acknowledged the U.S. military engaged in secret propaganda to disparage China’s vaccine in the developing world, but the official declined to provide details,” Reuters said.

“COUNTER” AND “DETER”
A Pentagon spokeswoman admitted the charge but framed it in a way that blamed the Chinese. She said that the U.S. military “uses a variety of platforms, including social media, to counter those malign influence attacks aimed at the U.S., allies, and partners.”

A standard American technique, much used by the Pentagon and the mainstream media, is for US elements to initiate hostile actions against China and then use words such as “counter” or “deter” to imply that the moves are a "response" to unspecified actions.

Last month, the Pentagon announced a new program to place weapons in orbit to “counter” China's and Russia’s space guns—although those countries don’t have such items.

HIGHLY ACTIVE COVERT OPERATIONS
Covert anti-China operations have been running for years in multiple countries and jurisdictions, including in parts of Greater China, such as Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In both these areas, the majority of citizens want a positive relationship with the mainland, but well-financed secret operations give a false impression that most citizens want independence.

The shocking Reuters revelation are reminiscent of a horrifying US covert operation involving medical clinics in Pakistan in 2010, which resulted in the deaths of large numbers of innocent people.

The US is never punished, censured, or sanctioned for such crimes, however many deaths they cause.
