@sighyam That’s a different statement. Yes it exists. Among Western Europeans: not in the way you mean it. (I am non Swiss who lived there as European speaking same language as them.)
@sighyam A Swiss citizen will come first because they assume other Swiss people have same high trust society standards. And a Singaporean Chinese *is* exotic in Switzerland. Nobody knows if they can address you in German, French or English. The language discrimination is real.
@teo_kai_xiang This derives from how French speakers would make the difference between Asian ethnic groups. Translated in English makes it sound weirder than it actually is.
As not only a Frenchman, but also a descendent of French settlers in Algeria, I think it's fine that he did that. We did kill a lot of Algerians during the war after all and it was a pretty nasty war to be honest.
What annoys me is when people keep whining about it today and talk as if that somehow explained the totally incompetent way in which their country has been managed by the FLN elite since independence.
The Algerians fought for their independence and earned it. Frankly I wish we had never colonized them in the first place. But what's done is done and they need to get over it. We also killed a lot of Vietnamese and you don't hear them constantly piss and moan about it.
On n’entend personne. »
