My friends say I give amazing #househunting advice, especially for people looking for #flatstorent in #Lagos. Have they been scoping me? Please click, watch, and tell me what you think>>> https://t.co/jmRpHoSf5h
No one should fly @DanaAir No one! Such blatant disregard and proud inefficiency. Sold tickets at insanely expensive amounts, then kept batch after batch of travelers stuck at the airport with no plane& no word at 11:00 pm.3:00 pm flight, 5:50, 7:30, 10:20..all still waiting!
Nigeria’s #COVID19 fight is challenged by serious deficits in ALL sectors.
"Maintain social distance" - but millions are packed in overcrowded urban slums.
"Wash hands clean" - but 60 million people don’t have clean water.
"Stock up" - but 90 million live from hand to mouth!
When world rankings predict that #AfricanBusinesses have a 5-year life span, do they factor in the petty traders that man their corner shops for a lifetime?
I visited my parents in Abeokuta recently and was again amazed at the persistence of these corner shops.
Thread.
Mama tuck shop, Tunde the cobbler, Iya Ibeji the tailor...the list goes on. Unsung businesses, with no business plan or marketing degrees to drive them. No expansion strategy or startup grant- yet surviving. Maybe, even thriving in their own little way.
Just thinking aloud. Perhaps if we could text a candidate's name from the comfort of our phones e.g Ezekwesili for president, and have external auditors vet it. The presidential election would get over 240 million votes, perhaps better than #BBNaija ? And the votes would count.
Lots of stuff I've written have gone & made me proud. But there's a special spot for those ones that somehow got lost. The never saved spontaneous writing. I wonder what happened to them; what they could have been; if someone else discovered them- it's almost like losing a child.
