@desi_lopez22 This pandemic has affected a lot of peoples lives and hurt many families, at this point I think getting a vaccine (if you are medically able) is just something to do to support you community and those you love. Home remedies do nothing and he is going to cause more harm than good
@adrianaoroozco I agree, this isn't going to go well especially with the technology not only being expensive but difficult to use for some and nauseating for others. This might cost them what they have built so far due to overreaching
@irissbus I’m not a huge fan of these videos but did watch some of them for my Linguistics class last semester, and while it does seems like they are communicating it’s probably more of a trained response from observation rather than understanding
@sandyvuong This feature is really cool! I’m just worried about people being discouraged from posting since everyone can see it just by scrolling through the sticker. But that’s an individual issue instead of a feature one
I'm glad they're cracking down more on misinformation, just wish that this had come sooner with everything that has happened these past two years with misinformation being out of control and causing a lot of harm. #csulbsmc https://t.co/ut6VyREJPG via @digiday
@desi_lopez22 Unfortunately we can’t check people credentials therefore we result to followers and it allows wrong information to spread. The only way to combat it is to do our own research
@iamfrankielerma I wouldn’t say other social media platforms are better but you do see more about them in the news with children safety as they’re held to more strict views. Facebook and Instagram have just fallen through the cracks probably because of how much use and how long they’ve been here
@irissbus As much as I would love to believe that there is now a more direct way of tipping your favorite creators on the platform I doubt it’s as simple as that. TikTok is probably getting a cut of it somewhere and just hiding the fact that they are
@sandyvuong I agree that if Twitter disappears it will be replaced with something else as people will always want somewhere to rant. I just don’t see everyone stopping their use of Twitter though maybe one day but not anytime soon.
@sandyvuong Bytedance no longer owns TikTok, they transitioned over to an American company while Trump was president due to threats of the app being taken out of the US market
I'm not surprised that is quickly turned away from the real topic on the floor of kids safety on social media apps but I wish they would focus on the issue because our elected officials are supposed to have the best interest of the people first. #csulbsmc https://t.co/ZRzl5DNu7W
@PalomeraG22 @adrianaoroozco @mavisshall @sandyvuong@NettCarril@irissbus I’m not surprised about the company avoiding the responsibility that would come with owning up to their neglect, but also rebranding isn’t going to distract people this time with how large the impact is on minors and society in general
@mavisshall TikTok unfortunately doesn’t do well with censorship or taking down harmful as a lot of things that are harmful stay up with videos calling them out are taken down. But it is easier to engage with than insta a lot of the time so I can see why it’s thriving now
@adrianaoroozco I’m not surprised to see this, and we should teach those younger than us these side effects as they should be able to learn from our mistakes. That’s the point of growing as a community isn’t it? To learn and do better so things won’t be repeated
@sandyvuong Unfortunately I don’t find this surprising, I hope that Instagram does better but if not I think it might be time to look towards other social media platforms. Which is really hard due to how far insta has reached and how they censor promotions to other sites
@irissbus It probably won’t launch and most of everything will be filled with trolls even if there are some supporters trying to actually participate in the site. The dangers of the site are concerning though as it will probably just lead to more issues with no one giving a different view
Hope they get more people on staff soon, especially since privacy online is something that is really important but hard to pin down. #csulbsmc https://t.co/mp2EYQePsz via @digiday
@chloelbsu They move updates so fast it's hard to keep up with them and while I appreciate them trying, most people skip the terms of agreement so a small warning like shown would not stop anyone
@irissbus Something that reminds people that the people they're responding too are human would be nice but I think they way they went about it wasn't great. I'm glad they are attempting to make this a more 'friendly' platform but it will be hard to even establish a system that will help
@iamfrankielerma I’ve recently been looking into going to therapy and while being able to do it on my phone sounds awesome it would also probably be very inefficient for me since I wouldn’t be able to concentrate. I think that’s a big problem with a lot of online services
