company behind the talking tiktok animal buttons creating study on how these animals are trained, and if their behavior is normal, after some skepticism arises over the authenticity of them learning human languages. are u a fan of these videos? #csulbsmc https://t.co/DMSLRUpgMw
@desi_lopez22 I think the choice to take him out is a responsible one, because he plays a contact sport and who knows how many people he sees a day, some of which might have family who could get the virus. it's just plain irresponsible of him at a position of power & influence
@Logan14997754@Digiday Same, misinformation is speading like crazy especially recently, there's all kinds of fake sources or details left out to make malicious comments/opinons, so I'm glad less harm is going to be caused
@sandyvuong I like this feature too! its fun to participate in to see other people's povs but it is also worrying that anyone has access to easier see our stories
Tiktok implementing new feature to tip their more popular creators (100k+ fllwrs) directly. TT already had a donating feature in lives, but that is for people with 1k+ following, so this is a little more exclusive. Are you tipping anyone? https://t.co/b2edGi0Q4o
@Logan14997754 As disappointing as the hearing and outcome are right now at least these companies are being questioned. i hate to say it but i doubt anything is going to happen to protect youth anytime soon but it’s a start
@sandyvuong LOL , but i agree, im someone who hates twitter but i still use this site at least once a day to check up on stuff/my friends and what’s going on in the world, like a little newspaper. i don’t think we’re tired of it enough to go cold turkey from twt
@iamfrankielerma True, I feel like facebook isn’t even used by younger kids anymore, mostly tiktok or ig. these companies are distancing themselves but they are just as guilty as FB and all act and have the the same people on either site
@PalomeraG22 same lol. i feel like FB changing their name is just attracting even more attention, which is kinda strange since i feel like they are trying to run from their problems and the negative attention they got before
@sandyvuong Maybe that is true, to keep people on their site since the time ppl are spending on the app dwindles every year. Or maybe it’s a safety feature to stop kids from clicking random links to unknown sites?
@adrianaoroozco It is definitely important to teach young people about the negative effects internet. It homes nearly anyone and everyone and nowadays they can find your location, your information in a second. Young ppl should know just how dangerous it is so they stay cautious.
@iamfrankielerma@voxdotcom With how big Facebook is I don’t think rebranding and creating a “metaverse” is gonna change anything. True, Facebook is just trying to distract us… maybe they currently have other plans with our data …
@mavisshall I agree with the article, it seems like everyone mains tiktok, and only uses facebook/instagram to connect to their friends. Tiktok is merely just replacing fb/ig and I think there will almost always be a social media with toxicity somewhere.
Trump opens his own social media app, which is basically a copy of the open source social media called Mastodon. After the announcement, it got rushed with trolls stealing handles and posting memes. Do you think this will actually launch? #csulbsmc https://t.co/eD0xsXSuNx
@Logan14997754 I agree with Francisco, I think while the two sources compliment each other, they are still different and one acts and has different behavior around it. I think the anonymity of social media lets people feel like they have less to worry about and write more critically
@chloelbsu Just saw that article too, I feel like even if it was implemented, it can't really limit or nudge a person to calm down or read the conversation first, I feel like it would get ignored by users... because I know I would ignore it lol
@iamfrankielerma Kind of weird to hear about social media being good for health after hearing how bad it is and can be for so long... but I kind of see what they're getting at. More resources have started becoming available, but it is still up to the indv to use those resources.
@sandyvuong Same, I feel like i've seen a lot of ads lately too. I do use tiktok a lot though, and i feel like there is only a smaller amount of ads, but they are more explicitly ads with sponsored tags etc.
