This morning my team delivered the first trial of it's kind (as far as I'm aware) in Vic, maybe Aus, to open a street in front of a school to people🚶♀️🚲🛴🛼🛹, making vehicles detour. The trial will take place 3 wks in a row in an attempt to shift behaviour to active travel.
Ok I’m worried… over on that #Threads place; I took the ID off my instagram page as I don’t want cross contamination of people (instagram is for nice pictures of my tea) but I’m still getting people following me on Threads - how are they finding me??!
Who’s figured it out yet?
Why all councils can’t have a ‘things’ library, I just don’t know.
It’s sad that ppl want their own shovel, own drills, own lawnmower etc….
This is the way (back) forward! 🫶🏽
More tool libraries needed.
The @libraryofthings is now open for reservations at Canada Water Library. You can rent useful items like carpet cleaners, circular saws and projectors from just a few pounds per day. Free-up space, cut clutter and save money by renting instead of buying https://t.co/0wytRygfA9
@lb_southwark@libraryofthings This is so good! Well done council.
My mum (a local resident) was just asking to borrow my sisters carpet cleaner but with no way of getting it across London it wasn’t gonna happen. She can’t afford (nor should she) buy one, so I’ve told her that she can sign up to this!
This is nice. Something I captured a few days ago. The bike lane on Queensbury (btw Elizabeth/Swanston) has had some brighter green added and LIGHTS! Haven’t tried it in low light but I bet they help ppl in cars to take a second before turning and potentially swiping out rider.
If you planned on being in Frankston on a Sunday morning, which is 1.5hrs from your home, where would you chose to find an air bnb that wasn’t Frankston? Mount Eliza? Or maybe further up like Edithvale?
@declanmartin75 Ta.
I’d rather go down to Rye tbh, but that’s still too far for an early morning start in Frankston, so looking at options much closer.
Purchasing books should be something most people have the means to do, yet BD was often the only source people in many countries could get the options they needed.
This is outrageous that a company like this will no longer exist. The impact will be huge.
Today @TfL is launching three new low traffic Cycleways across the capital:
🚲 New cycle routes in Lambeth, Islington, City of London, Ealing and Hounslow
🚲 10km of new routes in the network
🚲 124,000 more Londoners will be within 400m of a high-quality cycle route.
@robmcgibbon That’s the 30%. The consideration for people who don’t or can’t is captured in that category. It’s a future shift to aspire to, not current travel behaviour. Also, those who don’t want to, will have a far better travel experience if those who are keen to shift mode, can and do.
