If there’s one piece of advice I’d give to 1st time founders: line up as many pitches as you can with the worst investors you can find. It will get the kinks out of your pitch before you start talking to the whales. By the end, your pitch will be an Oscar winning performance.
1/ Blockchains are not networks—they're cities. 🏙️
This simple mental model will help you understand why the L1 wars are evolving the way they are.

Part III - What it is
The metaverse is the moment in time where our digital life is worth more to us than our phsyical life.
This is not an overnight change. Or an invention by some steve jobs type.
It's a gradual change that's been happening for 20 yrs
Excited to share that in just 100 days, the Cap Table Coalition has helped nearly 200 Black, Latino/a, LGBTQ+, Native American, and women investors deploy $16M of capital into some of today's most exciting startups! https://t.co/NNxF36bkcC
Glassdoor acquires @fishbowlapp, the company founded by Pixable alumni @lorenappin! Congrats!
Loren was part of the Pixable founding team and stayed as VP of Growth for 6yrs. I couldn’t be happier to see so many Pixable alumni succeeding as entrepreneurs https://t.co/hnDB9tAn5P
@jkwade@fishbowlapp Thanks @jkwade! Just have to say I’m fortunate in having good friends like you that have been down the startup path, and can relate to the ups and downs, having made this journey not quite as lonely.
1) LinkedIn feels antiquated and ripe for disruption.
Sales Navigator and the flood of absurd InMail’s are an active disincentive to engagement. i.e. LinkedIn clearly believes I am a “Chief Information Officer” so I am constantly targeted with IT InMails.
Professional collectives are going to be an exciting trend in the roaring 20s.
They’ll emerge for creators, coaches, angels, writers and many other professions.
The professional will have access to shared infrastructure and community while retaining the benefits of being indie.
Impressed with how engaged folks are on @fishbowlapp, a social network focused on career development.
I'd describe it as a cross btwn Glassdoor (anonymous Q+A) + Clubhouse (live audio discussions).
It's sweet spot is the anonymity to openly chat about anything career-wise.
We @GGVCapital hosted a holiday toast last night w/70 founders from around the 🌎. It was a special moment to reflect on the challenges of 2020, the resiliency of teams, and a look forward to 2021. An amazing group of people with a very bright outlook for the future 🙏.
