Thinking about making conjectures with kids in math class and wondering if another benefit of this practice is that as we refine or even discard ones we have made are we helping kids be more flexible in their thinking and learn with more information our thinking might change?
"We need to stop using the term "filling gaps" because it's deficit-based. Rather, we should look for "on ramps" into the curriculum where we can build on what students already know and can do." @mathminds at #NCTMLC
@EducationFL@GovRonDeSantis@richardcorcoran In this plan there are numerous resources for reading. As a primary teacher I appreciate that. However I didn’t see any mention of resources for math which is equally important to the future academic success of my students.
