@cspan Rep. Smith..... maybe if it's said slower, you might get it......in August 2017, President Biden was just a private citizen. Not a candidate, not the VP, and not even a senator. You melted down with 1 simple, direct question....wow.....
@JakeSherman Oh please.....how many R's are already saying that they will put a discharge option out there? He has the support of the D's and those R's.....he is just more concerned about his speaker position than the millions of us who will be affected. Give me a break!
@RepMattGaetz @DailyCaller@henryrodgers πFinancially, you are more likely able to handle this because of the income that you get on the side. So not getting this paycheck is probably not a big deal to you. Talk again when you are living paycheck to paycheck.
@mkraju It's time for McCarthy to stand up to these clowns. If they put out the vote to vacate, so be it. If he loses the vote, at least he will lose it with some morality intact. Would he rather just lose the gavel or risk losing his seat all together?
@SenDuckworth Dear Senator, thanks for all you do, but SS, Medicare, and VA benefits will still go out. It's the people processing those checks who sadly won't get paid.
@BackTo_1970@VivekGRamaswamy So the essential government workers (your border patrol agents, TSA agents, air traffic controllers, troops, workers who cut the SS and Medicare checks), who will be working during the shutdown and not be getting paid just work for free? Seriously?
@The_Mel_Fuller@radmobile5000@RepJeffries Not the essential employees (i.e. your TSA agents, border patrol agents, troops, people who cut the checks for Social Security). Nope. They'll be working and not knowing when they'll get paid....
@JeffKay001@radmobile5000@RepJeffries Furloughed employees will not be working. However, essential employees (i.e. your TSA agents, border patrol agents, Social Security examiners who pay SS benefits, and the troops) will all be working without getting paid. Just straightening up the facts....
@RepMTG Nope. It is you and your "dysfunctional" caucus causing this. Your group can't even come up with a bill for @POTUS to even take a look at. 2) 40+ 33 is only 77, what about the other 23%?
@CpecksR@CNN Furloughed and essential employees would not receive pay during a shutdown. That's more than 15%. It includes your TSA agents, air traffic controllers, border patrol agents, and the troops.
@PepeSilvia1234@CNN That's not entirely correct. While the furloughed employees don't work, the essential ones (i.e. your TSA agents, air traffic controllers, military, border patrol agents) have to work without getting paid during the shutdown. Essential employees also get back pay.
@RepAndyBiggsAZ Here is an insane fact that you have conveniently left out....."essential" federal workers will still work, but won't get paid until the "pause" is over.
