This stock phrase seems to be everywhere in the NHS.
"If you have any problems, go see your GP"
Had an operation? See your GP.
Problem with my treatment? See your GP.
Social issue? Go see your GP.
Multiple unnecessary appointments so far today and everyday.
@mancunianmedic @DrEmmaNash Even better would be ‘I’ve asked the patient to book an appointment to get it checked with your practice’ which then gives the responsibility with the patient, rather than generating more work for the practice in having to contact the patient
@Bob_Fischer I am a GP and we are pushing against online access to our services, for this very reason. Not just elderly who find digital tech hard or excluding. However, we get penalised for this.
In January 2011, just 17 people waited longer than 12 hours on a trolley for an emergency hospital bed.
In January 2024, more than 50,000 people did.
Please RT so everyone can be aware of the damage the Conservatives have done to our NHS.
Great show today from @drphilhammond on radio 4….
But VERY sad to hear @GreenhousePeter perpetuate the myth that GPs don’t know anything about HRT and simply dole out SSRIs…
And that Phil didn’t pull him up on some unnecessary GP bashing on national radio….
Just heard the Home Secretary stand up in Parliament and declare that "the British people support the Rwanda plan".
I'm sick of these guys telling me what I support.
I do not support the "Rwanda plan".
If you don't either, please retweet.
@KatyandToast As a GP calling to send patients into hospital, can I ask the same of the person picking up the call. Name, FY? reg? Consultant? Imperative if needing to discuss a patient
No one's laughing here. Bradford is bigger than Newcastle, Bristol, Liverpool and Nottingham. We need a mainline city centre rail station to match our size and ambition. We have huge economic potential which Government need to take seriously.
