Trump denied reports that CIA chief John Ratcliffe’s trip to Russia this week was to warn Putin not to attack a NATO country.

NEW: A growing number of Russian officials believe Putin could eventually opt to strike Ukraine with tactical nuclear weapons, according to people close to the Kremlin.

According to Bloomberg, chatter in Moscow among hawks advocating such a move has increased recently. An extreme response is seen as possible because, for Putin, the only outcome worse than continuing the war would be losing it.

Dolly was born in East Tennessee and used her success to make it better. So much money from her attractions and fame came into our mountain communities and was put into schools and infrastructure. She made the Imagination Library to help childhood literacy in Appalachia. Every month since our daughter was born, the library has sent her a book with a note from Dolly encouraging her to be proud of where she’s from and to learn the importance of the stories that built us. Her husband passed last year and she spoke of being reunited with him. I’m glad heaven is a little sweeter, and sings a little better for it. Rest in peace to the Queen of Appalachia, Jolene could never.

U.S. officials said a major Chinese cyber-espionage campaign targeted numerous federal agencies, including NASA, the Federal Reserve, the Justice and Energy departments, and the U.S. Senate.

Hackers linked to China’s military and intelligence services used a Chinese tech company to cover their tracks, break into target networks and make their attacks more efficient. Other targets included U.S. military networks, hospitals, power companies and defense contractors.
