I’m hoping that someone can help me. Our son died from #Bleomycin poisoning, which is a chemo lung that can destroy the lungs if not monitored adequately. Has anyone out there experienced lung damage from Bleomycin and survived? #cancer

@DrEricLevi You have many more Father’s Days to work things out. This is the first year without my beautiful son, who died from Bleomycin lung toxicity 5 days after Father’s Day last year. Take the chances given to you and remember nothing is more important than your own family.

@tdeb007 @YouAreLobbyLud I’m so sorry to hear. Cancer sucks, however it’s even worse when a young patient dies from the side effects. We have worked with the hospital to implement a number of recommendations to ensure that the same thing doesn’t happen to others. Unfortunately it won’t bring Stefan back.

@DrStevenTChen Interesting in my son’s case the dermatologist diagnosed that the erythema between my son’s fingers was chemo related; so bad that he couldn’t hold a pen to write in my Father’s Day card. Yet totally missed by his oncologist. My son had to request the Dermatology consult himself

@tdeb007 @YouAreLobbyLud You are still alive, luckily. My 32 year old son died after only two months of Bleomycin treatment, that destroyed his lungs.

@LeanneWells63 @Mark_Butler_MP 87 year old relative recovering from cancer, COVID +ve called her Adelaide GP surgery this morning and was told no phone consults were available. Not even offered one on Monday. There has to be a better solution than directing people to a bottleneck.

@LibbyMbc @SandraRPearce1 I’m so sorry. We lost our 32 yr old Dr son last year due to the side effects of Bleomycin chemotherapy, a tragic outcome that could have been avoided. My heart goes out to you and your family. Stefan’s time was cut short - he only had 3 months. Every moment counts.
