I make videos with @soozee324. I take epic naps. I have unreasonable opinions about mayonnaise. I love cardigans, milk tea, and jazzy hip hop. Come on you reds!
@jkendall I spend ‘em spacing out. Being with my thoughts. Observing the world. Letting my mind wander, which generally I feel I ought to do more often.
@WadjetEyeGames We called it “striping.” Always striped new tapes. And always ended a project by printing the finished version to a fresh striped tape for the archive. Nearly forgot we all did that!
@stevemz After I reached a certain level of fluency, motivation became irrelevant because it wasn’t such a struggle to read or listen or just generally do things I was naturally interested in, all in that language. I mean, does drinking beer with a native speaker even count as “study?”
@stevemz I was surrounded by people who took language study much more seriously. They put me to shame with the hours of practice and effort they put in. Seeing them learn faster than me completely shifted my perspective. Realized I had to put in more to get more out. Normalized hard work.
