According to the NASW code of ethics, we need to be advocating for social justice and treating everyone with respect. Sometimes social workers are the only support individuals have. People need support through every stage of life. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
@_lindseypowell_ This is something that I think needs people to advocate for more! People often do not think about this and miscarriages are not only hard mentally but also physically. It can be hard to immediately go into work after having a traumatic event happen to your body
@lauren_ej7 This is very important and something many do not think of. As social workers these are the populations we need to help and advocate for so that they can have the basic human rights they deserve.
@HannahWestWKUSW This is important to be taught in our schools. At a young age we should all learn how to be compassionate, understanding, inclusive, and diverse. We do not need to raise our children to discriminate but to teach them why we shouldn’t.
There and many diverse cultures and ethnicities. As social workers we strive to end discrimination and any type of social injustice. This can be done with research, advocacy, education, and supporting these groups. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
With aging comes more complex issues and sometimes with less support. This can be finances, basic needs, mental health issues, physical health issues, and more. Social workers can help better the quality of life to the best of their ability. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
Many children suffer with mental health issues. Some of these children get the help they need, and some do not. And their issues will go untreated for years. As social workers we work to have resources more easily accessible for everyone, especially children. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
@kellytapp9 Mental health is so important. It can even cause issues with physical health. As social workers we need to continuously work to advocate for mental health and ways to better the quality of life of our communities.
@MarissaR464 The benefits of Medicaid are very helpful to those who qualify, like you said it is not accessible for everyone. Making it more accessible or creating another program would be great for the U.S.
In U.S. history we used to criminalize people with mental health illnesses, then would institutionalize them, & created a stigma around the issue. As social workers we strive to find ways that better quality of life through advocacy, research, & treatment. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
@CarolMc012 Medicaid is very helpful for people who qualify for this coverage. It is even more beneficial with families. Sometimes finding competent care that takes this healthcare coverage can be complicated though.
Social Workers that work in healthcare are there to help make informed decisions, advocate for what is needed, and helping to find necessary resources. The NASW supports social workers working in healthcare.

@darby_potter4@KYHarperAngel This is so needed, especially in the school systems. There are many reasons that women and girls should always have access to feminine hygiene products.
@BloodyRed7 I agree that I would support this. This is what we do as social workers. We advocate for these populations who are not able to for themselves.
Help me support HB 93! This bill prohibits not being eligible for unemployment insurance if it is caused from domestic violence, sexual abuse, and stalking. The NASW Code of Ethics states that as social workers we should advocate change for improvement. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
