Macrohard is Elon’s bet that a software company can be run by machines.

• The name is a joke on Microsoft. The design is not.
• Grok sits on top and decides. A Tesla agent sits underneath and uses the computer.
• The agent watches the last few seconds of the screen, then moves the mouse and types.
• System 2 thinks. System 1 acts.
• He said that stack can run on a $650 AI4 chip and only call the expensive Nvidia boxes when it has to.

If the product is bits, not steel, you should not need a building full of people to ship it. Code, support, design, billing. Agents do the work. Humans set the goal.

What shipped is the first floor. Grok Bot already has a computer, memory, tools, and now a voice. Three people at SpaceXAI even tried to stand a company up with it on camera. That is useful. That is not yet a firm that runs itself.

The hard half is still the eyes. Watching a live desktop and not getting lost is a different problem from answering in a chat. Until that layer is boring and cheap, Macrohard is a roof painted on Colossus, not a product you can buy.

Here is what I expect.

The teammate keeps eating small jobs first. Research, mail, code review, night shifts nobody wants. Companies will rent that long before they fire a department.

The full “emulate Microsoft” line slips. Names like that always do. Cursor, Grok Build, and Bot will carry the work while the screen agent catches up.

The Tesla twist is the part most people skip. He already said a parked AI4 car can do office work. Superchargers have power sitting there at night. If that is real, the compute is not only in Memphis. It is in the lot.

Microsoft does not vanish. What changes is the cost of a digital worker. When that cost falls far enough, you do not replace the logo. You stop hiring the next ten people.

Macrohard becomes the name over that stack, or it fades and Bot keeps the customers. Either way the direction is the same. Software firms get smaller. The ones that win are the ones that let the agent finish the job.

Keep in mind 4 of the 7 October reds were really shallow.

Also all 3 of the November reds were really shallow.

And 3 of the 6 December reds were really shallow.

So all in all, since 2009, out of 51 total monthly Q4 sample sizes, we only saw 6 notable drawdowns. Or about 11% of the time.
