There are many realities in Gaza that rarely make it into daily coverage. One of them: there is not a single functioning MRI machine left in the entire Gaza Strip. All seven machines that once existed were destroyed by the Israeli occupation.
Doctors are now forced to diagnose and treat many patients without MRI scans, making already difficult medical decisions even harder.
Dr. Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi, himself a former political prisoner, models what a letter of solidarity written to Iranian political prisoners might look like.
Breaking🚨: Israel has carried out a massacre in a beach cafe in Gaza City, killing six people, including a child, and wounding several others so far.
The scenes are horrifying.
Yes we were informed of this yesterday and were extremely heartbroken. The Sameer Project has the ability to scale up water, all we need is funding. Help us do more than half a million liters of water. We beg you. Things are bad in Gaza, really really bad.

The Living Record: Gaza’s journalists remember their martyred colleagues
A moving and crucial tribute to Palestinian journalists in Gaza killed by Israel compiled by @nywarcrimes. Do check it out:
The Sameer Project started from a desire to help our Palestinian people differently - with dignity, without conditions, and in a way that returned agency instead of creating dependency.
We continued because the genocide continued.
And now, we are devastated to say that The Sameer Project is being forced to pause our daily operations.
Not because the need has decreased. Because the money has run out.
We are panicking. We are stressed. We are heartbroken because we know exactly what this pause means for the people who rely on us.
Mothers still need to feed their children. Families still need drinking water. The elderly and sick still need medication. People are still being killed in airstrikes and shootings while the occupation continues to manufacture deprivation by restricting aid.
We have always been an emergency response group. When you donated, we spent that money immediately on people who needed help NOW. We did not save it for some predictable tomorrow, because in Gaza tomorrow has never been promised.
Now we are reaching a point we never wanted to reach: we do not have enough coming in to keep responding.
This pause is not administrative. It is not harmless. When food, water, medicine, transportation, and emergency assistance disappear, people can die.
We desperately need you to understand the urgency of this moment.
Please help us restart operations. Please donate. Please share. Please do not let Gaza lose another lifeline.
In the coming days we will share with you exactly how to be part of the solution - how to bring The Sameer Project back. The need did not stop and neither can we. Stand with us…

A heartbreaking scene of love, grief, & brotherhood: Anas Al-Sharif & Ibrahim Zaher comforting their lifelong friend Mohammed Nofal after the loss of his mother, who was killed by Israel.
Later, all three were also killed by Israel in a strike on the journalists’ tent in Gaza.
This is the formidable Al-Jazeera journalist Mohammed Qreqia's unbearable grief moments over his mother who was kidnapped, starved, and murdered in cold blood in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital.
Mohammed was then killed with his colleagues in a tent.
In September 2024, I sent Anas Al-Sharif a series of questions about working as a journalist in Gaza covering the genocide. He replied with a 10:30 min voice note. You can listen to an excerpt below or read the full transcript at the link.
On this day a year ago, our beloved, our best, and our voice and eyes was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on the press tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital that not only killed him but murdered four others, including his closest Mohammed Qreqia’
Gaza has since lost its voice.💔
