On Tuesday, I formally advanced my ambition by obtaining the nomination form to contest for the Governorship of Adamawa State under the APC platform.
This represents more than a personal milestone—it is a collective movement inspired by purpose, strengthened by the people, and guided by a clear vision for sustainable progress.
I sincerely appreciate the steadfast support and confidence of our party leadership and members across the state. Your trust remains the foundation of this journey.
The task before us is clear: to provide disciplined, forward-looking, and people-centered leadership. With tested experience, firm commitment, and the A.D.A.M.A.W.A FIRST Agenda, we are prepared to move Adamawa State to the next level.

If a politician walks easily from a party platform that gave him a VP slot & one that later gave him more than 6.5m votes in a general election where he didn’t build, he will walk away from anything else! Carpeting from party to party is not a style of politics I admire!
Sad to see young Nigerians are being groomed to become party hoppers, every 4 years. Please don’t come here and blame the APC!

Ever so grateful for the opportunity to inspire many. Timeless words in the keynote - DATA IS THE NEW INFRASTRUCTURE! The data & AI opportunity is immense for Nigeria 🇳🇬. Thanks to the @BluechipTechNG team + @KazTewogbade & @OtunbaSho https://t.co/Y1IXOfBNHV
On the invitation of the French Government, I arrived Paris yesterday with major stakeholders in the Aviation industry in Nigeria at their own expense. It is a four-day visit from 5th to 8th of March. The visit shall include a bilateral meeting, as well as business-to-business meetings in Paris, Marseille and Toulouse with major stakeholders in the Aviation industry in France, including a visit to Aircrafts manufacturing giants, Airbus.
Today, we met Damien Caze, the Director-General of the French Civil Aviation Authority together with his team and a number of French aviation stakeholders and businesses.
@FinPlanKaluAja1 It is easy to profer solutions from outside and criticise on Twitter. Everybody is a guru and financial expert and has the solution to Nigerians' problems, but when given the opportunity, you will know that it is easy to talk than to implement..
REBUILDING TRUST: SALIENT STRATEGIES TO STRENGTHEN THE GOVERNMENT-PEOPLE RELATIONSHIP IN THE 21ST CENTURY
In the 21st century, trust between governments and their citizens has become increasingly fragile. Issues such as political polarisation, misinformation, and perceived lack of transparency have eroded the bond between the two, leading to a sense of disconnect and disillusionment among the populace.
However, rebuilding trust is not an insurmountable task. By implementing strategic measures and fostering open communication, governments can repair the relationship with their citizens and create a more inclusive and accountable society.
1. TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
Transparency is the cornerstone of trust. Governments must be open about decision-making processes, financial expenditures, and policy implementations. By providing accessible information, such as public records and budget allocations, citizens can better understand their government's actions and hold officials accountable for their decisions. Additionally, strengthening independent oversight mechanisms, such as anti-corruption agencies, can further ensure accountability and prevent abuses of power.
2. ENGAGE IN DIALOGUE:
Effective communication is essential for building trust. Governments should actively engage with citizens through various channels, including town hall meetings, online forums, and social media platforms. By soliciting feedback, addressing concerns, and incorporating public input into policymaking, governments can demonstrate their commitment to serving the people's needs. Moreover, fostering a culture of dialogue and collaboration can bridge the gap between government institutions and grassroots communities, fostering mutual understanding and trust.
3. COMBAT MISINFORMATION:
Misinformation and disinformation pose significant threats to trust in government. Governments must invest in media literacy programs, fact-checking initiatives, and transparent communication strategies to counteract this. Governments can empower citizens to discern fact from fiction and make informed decisions by promoting critical thinking skills and providing accurate information. Additionally, collaborating with media organisations and technology companies to combat the spread of misinformation can help safeguard the integrity of public discourse and rebuild trust in democratic institutions.
4. UPHOLD RULE OF LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS:
Respect for the rule of law and human rights is fundamental to trust in government. Governments must uphold constitutional principles, protect civil liberties, and ensure equal treatment under the law. By fostering a culture of justice and accountability, governments can demonstrate their commitment to fairness and equality for all citizens. Investing in judicial independence, legal aid services, and human rights institutions can strengthen the rule of law and build confidence in the justice system.
5. FOSTER CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATION
Citizen participation is essential for a thriving democracy. Governments should actively promote civic engagement by providing opportunities for citizens to participate in decision-making processes, volunteer for public service initiatives, and engage in community development projects. Empowering citizens to play an active role in shaping their communities can foster a sense of ownership and belonging, leading to greater trust and cooperation.
In conclusion, rebuilding trust between the government and the people is a multifaceted endeavour that requires a concerted effort from both sides. Governments can foster a culture of trust and collaboration by prioritising transparency, accountability, dialogue, and civic engagement, ultimately strengthening democracy and promoting the common good in the 21st century.
