TEAM TAIWAN 🇹🇼 is the #Premier12 champion after a 4-0 W against Samurai Japan! 😳 What an upset, what a finals, what a tournament. Congratulations, guys. ✊🏻

Greatly appreciate the @Europarl_EN’s overwhelming support for Taiwan in its motion opposing China's distortion of UN Resolution 2758 to limit Taiwan's international participation. Our shared values & commitment to peace bring us together, making our democratic umbrella stronger!
100k #Taiwanese joined the 524 #Bluebird movement & illustrated a mature civic society:
1. Breastfeeding and diaper stations
2. Politicians and KOLs refrained and let more ppl talk on the stage.
3. No movement leader.
4. well-prepared medical resources, food, water, and chairs.
Reporting on Taiwan means understanding how a presidential candidate can declare, "Taiwan is a sovereign, independent country," and "I oppose Taiwanese independence," *in the same interview*... and mean exactly what they say.
I have a PhD in theoretical physics, studied BCS theory, ran extremely complex numerical simulations, published papers on (optical) heterogeneous nanostructures, researched Landau level type stuff in 2 degree electron gas, ran calculations for SQUIDs.
I still have no strong intuition on LK99.
I am hopeful and optimistic. I have colleagues who specialized in materials science and superconductivity and they are almost as uncertain as me.
If we are lucky, we're about to learn more weird things about the universe.
Some of my favourite place name stories come from #Taiwan, because the complex relationship between Austronesian, Sinitic (Hokkien/Hakka/Mandarin), and Japanese elements is fascinating! So here's the story of Kaohsiung 高雄 and what it has to do with chickens, cats and dogs!🧵 1/
To some degree Taiwan's leadership is inherently holding a mirror towards the Chinese public north of the strait: This is how transparent and down to earth a government can be... while Xi Jinping is hiding behind an excessive personality cult and a massive censorship apparatus.
This is how the @UN respond to any Taiwan-related questions.
#Taiwan, Asia's leading democracy, is excluded from the UN system, while #Russia becomes the president of the UN Security Council on April 1st.
The UN needs to be radically reformed.

@JeffersonianAll@ItsBorys @Izhmash12k You’re basically saying that the US is the root cause and Zelensky is a dictator who forces everyone to fight for him?
Factually wrong.
Siding with Putin or pretending being neutral on such issues make no sense at all.
I'm a @UChicago international relations professor and I strongly disagree with John Mearsheimer's views on the War in Ukraine.
Here's why.
