@SafdarAlam@almirqat I don't believe USDT is only for profit. It's made sending funds from one continent to another instant, near 0 cost, and direct peer to peer with no swift and US banks dependency. I can't answer to the halal of it, just commenting on utility of USDT and stablecoins generally
How do you sell $ZEC for fiat P2P without trusting the counterparty? Private bridge to @aztecnetwork, escrow ZEC, buyer proves payment via zkTLS, auto-release. Built for Zypherpunk hackathon using @primus_labs https://t.co/8NaaiOxz3g
New Blog post: Smart Contracts at Sea ⚓️
Traditional Letters of Credit cost 2% in fees. Smart contract escrows cost 90% less, and earn DeFi yield while locked.

Traditional finance isn't being replaced - it's being programmed.
New post on how programmable cryptography is quietly automating the $7 trillion cost of global financial intermediation from within existing systems ->

Our first effort is Bank Originated Ledger Transactions (BOLT) - using OpenBanking API's, we can create proofs of bank-to-bank transfers.
Signatures from OpenBanking carry legal guarantees of receipt, making them much stronger than email or TLS based solutions.

@EliBenSasson@Bitcoin Does the pow need to be pure? If we use whole block for Fri commitment then no issue. Question is can we have multiple commitments in one block for different apps? Can we have other unrelated btc transactions in the block?
@EliBenSasson@Bitcoin For grinding vs pow, can we use same pow for different applications (eg btc stark L2s) in same block (same pow)? Parallel proving is issue
@shafu0x@real_philogy@robin_linus@weikengchen With btc utxos it won’t be like eth contract call experience- but now a utxo has spending logic that is expressive; as expressive as anything you can program on a 64bit riscV chip. Excitement is for zkp verifiers I.e zk rollups. So yes expressive contracts not just 1:1 channels.
@FrancescoRenziA There are two Chaumian ecash implementations in development in BTC with trust assumptions @CashuBTC and @fedimint
A few of us are experimenting with Ethereum implementation that aims to tackle the trust assumptions. We will take part in the @class_lambda Hackathon in Paris.
@chrishobcroft@VladZamfir Smart transactions seem to extend consensus to the mempool. Do we have an EVM specification of smart transactions idea? Would be cool to implement and dedicate a Holešovice testnet for this.
@ns_human@JordanImran2 I’ve been also thinking about interesting designs. Using light clients and storage proofs (state proofs) you could potentially have a rollup that is a bridge. Still researching but if it’s interesting would love to have it scrutinized by both of you
