encountered a Real Life Math Problem this weekend: if you accidentally bake the sponge for a layer cake in a 10-inch pan instead of 9-inch, how much shorter will it be? follow-up: how upset will you be that your layer cake is now, well, just a cake?

@JadeMasterMath if it's before a noun, I would write local-to-global (e.g. "local-to-global principle"). I don't know if that's right, but that's what I'd do!
