@Narayani07 I don't see a good reason to have this bifurcation. The offer letter should only be non binding until both parties have signed on it. And this can happen on the joining day if needed.

This way the employer can save time answering unnecessary questions.

Hurts a lot to see this being a Malayalee. Theres a lot of work being done in this space by the govt but we are barely a competition to other states in South India like OP mentions. Until Kerala govt takes a strict stance on CITU & union goons, we will never be taken seriously.

More people need to hear this. Dont get me wrong, do invest a portion of your income for the sake of financial discipline but when the need comes do not hesitate to invest in yourself even if its a sizeable portion.

The first and most crucial step towards financial freedom is having a meaningfully sized investment corpus. Even 20% returns on 1L don't move the needle. Invest in yourself to earn a decent wage. If your investment corpus isn't equal to at least a year's income, even an excellet 16% return won't fetch you just 2 months' salary before taxes. That's not financial freedom.

I dont understand these takes. Uber is trying to spin up infinite routes based on demand. This is better than a bus because the stop is probably going to be closer to you and it can scale up or down based on demand. I can see huge potential for this in India especially.
