Within hours of Egypt’s stunning World Cup defeat, the internet was already reaching for antisemitic conspiracies to explain the loss.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s coach was furious over a fan waving an Israeli flag, just days after he waved a Palestinian flag himself and used his press conference to call for “solidarity.”
Solidarity?
Maybe start by asking why Egypt won’t open its own border to Gazan refugees.
Apparently, some people can’t lose a match without reaching for the oldest excuse in the book: Blame the Jews.
