IS THERE ROOM FOR ELON MUSK’S THIRD PARTY IN AMERICA?
@m_mas: "The message that he is bringing is not one that is likely to bring any significant percentage of the population to the table to vote kind of for something as opposed to just against it."
Michael Maslansky I worked for the most successful third party (ROSS PEROT) in decades. @ElonMusk has a lot to learn from it.

@philipaklein@NRO From a rhetorical perspective I disagree. Her effectiveness was in how she threaded the needle on Israel and American exceptionalism among others. She found language to engage the left and the right. Firing up the base is easy. Engaging both sides is not
"It's morning again in America."
"Change."
"Make America great again."

@nytopinion@leedrutman These questions are embarrassing. They push people into decisions that do not represent how many people think about the issues covered. The idea is a good one. The execution is not.

Want to recognize and thank @ColumbiaCoDOH for your considerate, effective, and efficient contact tracing work. Like many Depts of Health, you probably dont get much credit for trying to help thousands of people avoid and recover from COVID. Thanks!
"When business professionals help students build their networks & create acccess to opportunities for students they help them succeed. Policies need to change but businesses can make a real impact today. Organizations like PENCIL help make those connections happen," @m_mas
@Ask_Spectrum How is it possible that we've had an outage for 10 hours and you still have no information about when it might be resolved? Thanks for telling me repeatedly on my 19 min hold that "we know how important it is to stay connected, especially now." #contradictionalert"
And it acknowledges identity but focuses on universal principles rather than identity politics, which will make it harder for the Trump campaign to attack. I had thought there was too much about Biden the man during the convention, but his speech made it all make sense. 3/3
Powerful to see a man rise to the moment the way @JoeBiden just did. He has found a simple framing of this election as light vs dark, hope vs fear, decency vs self-interest. The Trump campaign might even agree.
Biden’s framing stands above policy, making it easier for progressives to align. It is grounded in faith, family, and dignity, three core ideas for many Republicans, making it easier for them to support him. 2/3
