@JoshAHobbs If the worst player they ever saw on TV played with them once in a five a side, they would be comparing that player to Messi within minutes.
Proud to announce that I have joined @statsports as a Data Scientist! I am really excited to continue working on my passions of Football and Machine Learning.
@Syndicate I was a few kilometres away but my entire room shook. It was quite scary, and for a moment I thought the island was under attack. Then I switched back to realised it was a fireworks factory that blew up. This happens every 5 or so years I would say.

@JoelAdejola If you don't mind a technical question. Why are all the charts pre-rendered images presumably pre-rendered and cached server-side vs interactive charts rendered on the browser with something like chart.js? It robs you of the ability to interact with the vis via hover/click.
@JoelAdejola And that would be addressed by a shot map, right?
I think it's cool, don't get me wrong. I'd love to see it for 2-3 seasons or more of data.
@JoshAHobbs@Millar_Colin The last world cup had sensors in the ball to know exactly when it was touched. I'd argue that having these close cases called offside is worth it, considering it eliminates genuine egregious offside calls.
