@SamuriDotCom@corakow05 It sucks for You!! And that’s fine order delivery if you want. I don’t like anthropomorphic wolves but I’m not claiming it’s for me. I expressed how nice I find walking to the grocer is and a lot of people agreed. It’s fine if you don’t get it.
@SamuriDotCom@corakow05 More time to look at furry art, I get it brother. I will say that 3 minutes driving =\= 3 minutes of walking to me, there’s a mental threshold to cross over when you get behind the wheel.
@corakow05@SamuriDotCom No one really understands until you live this close that I treat the grocery store as just a Big Pantry. I’ll run down for just a lemon or something. It’s easy and convenient and pleasant!
Scientists at the most sophisticated hydration labs in North America announce breakthrough, believe they have created the most quenching beverage known to man:
@devahaz Sometimes it feels like this guy is just making his life worse on purpose. Why bust out the contraption when you want to make toast instead of, as you say, a cast iron. Unless you just like self flagellating
Hard to explain how much I disagree with this. I go to the grocer probably every other day and it’s a highlight for me. Pick up some fresh bread, a bag of arugula, and a fun jam. Then I walk home about 0.25 miles. Maybe I’m on the phone with my ma. Living in this way is a gift.
Thats a horribly inefficient waste of time. You probably end up spending close to 5 hours just in grocery stores every week if you do this (nevermind the extra hours spent walking there and back as well), when you add up shopping+waiting in line. I'd rather just do 2-3 weeks worth of shopping at once in <2hours, drive my groceries right to my front door, and then not have to go to a store again for a few weeks
There's a reason no one who gets a license ever uses public transit or walks anywhere ever again if they dont have to - its way worse in every way.
Society should be more accommodating to cars, not less. Bike lanes for example, should be illegal
@GulagInmate5790@IJoukov No but it’d be easier to get to Titans games. I’ve lived in: Albemarle County VA, Memphis TN, Hillsborough NH, Manhattan NY, Oxford UK, Silver Spring MD, and now in Washington DC. All over, and all densities. Not everyone likes how I live, but it isn’t “horribly inefficient”
@GulagInmate5790@Marc_Topaz@IJoukov Well see you’re tweaking what I said right? I don’t go every single day but that’s your assumption in that post. I go probably three times a week. I’d love for you to time the next trip to the store door to door. I’d like to see if that 30 minute number is accurate!
@GulagInmate5790@Marc_Topaz@IJoukov Marginally longer of course is still longer. I am door to door in ten minutes, you probably think it’s longer and you’re rounding out parts of the car trip, like walking from parking to front door, but it really is just ten minutes for me. I’ve lived in the suburbs. I like this.
@GulagInmate5790@Marc_Topaz@IJoukov Yeah I just think if you’re shopping for a full week it takes longer. More to buy, and more spoils in the fridge. And the bus schedule is nothing there’s one every 6 minutes. I own a car but choose to live like this because it makes my life better, personally!
@GulagInmate5790@Marc_Topaz@IJoukov At the grocery store after work! Or at the farmers market on Sunday morning. The beauty of living a 3 minute walk to store is it’s not really a chore to shop. I ride the bus home from work, then divert myself ten minutes total to pick up food for the next couple days.
