@GeorgeKirov1 Nothing new, the dip in memory straight after ECT is known and acknowledged in our field. What is more important and apparently ignored by John is that memory performance increases after ECT, often outperforming pre-ECT levels: 10.1016/j.jpsychires.2022.09.028

The study is the first one to use synaptic density imaging longitudinally in a cohort of patients receiving ECT.

Generalizability of the findings is limited, but the innovative aspect of multimodal PET-MR imaging in a severe clinically depressed cohort needs to be highlighted!
