Hypothetical antitrust question:
Company A and Company B are direct competitors in AI.
Company A dramatically restricts usage on its highest-tier plan. Customers who need heavy usage begin migrating to Company B.
Shortly afterward, Company B dramatically increases usage on its competing product, making the migration even more attractive.
Later, imagine the pattern reverses: Company B restricts capacity while Company A expands it, shifting heavy users back toward Company A.
If those decisions are completely independent, that’s competition.
But if Company A and Company B are privately coordinating the timing or magnitude of those restrictions and expansions, effectively taking turns absorbing each other’s customers instead of competing independently, wouldn’t that raise a serious antitrust question?
Parallel behavior alone proves nothing. The question is whether anyone is actually looking for coordination behind it.
Didn’t Dario work for OpenAI at some point? I wonder what the relationship was like when they were leaving? It is starting to seem a bit sus between all the AI companies.
Would be a shame to find out these “competitors” are doing something like that, would raise some major antitrust red flags.
🚨BREAKING: OpenAI just cut the $200 Pro subscription plan's compute allocation by 50%
"In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan"
it’s unbelievably over
I love it. Zero originality, zero creativity.
But it’s the same pattern as usual and it’s the weakness of sterilized corporate slop.
e.g. an equal competitor that has better taste would easily have an edge.
pretty interesting that the category is converging on the same visual grammar almost comically fast too.
you’ve got a blob, a face, some “eyes”, you gotta give it some soft geometry, add in some emotions via animations, & of course a very friendly affect.
@darioadrianzz@nsnojp@jaimintf you can easily just make a simple guardrail in the prompt like...
