Congratulations @ARSCSafety! Due to you, @cityoftoronto infrastructure committee has unanimously approved pedestrian safety work and bike lanes on Avenue Road from Bloor to Davenport! Davenport to Dupont pedestrian safety coming to community council June 11. If I can help it, no more road deaths on my watch! https://t.co/G8hq1v1Xog

Tonight I joined advocates for safe streets to remember Ali Sezgin Armagan, a 39-year-old bike deliverer killed in the corner of Avenue and Elgin streets in Toronto.
That’s four cyclists killed already in Toronto this year. We need action now. #ONpoli#VisionZero
Still biking to run errands, even though my wheel was in the shop! Zipped over to my LBS to pick it up on a @BikeShareTO#ebike and carried it home using yoga mat straps on my backpack. Efficient, effective and eco-friendly! #biketo
One of the things that may seem like a small thing, but when you consider that our library system has 2.8 million users - making it one of the most well used and celebrated library systems in the world, you start to realize this is a big thing:
I was at City Hall when libraries were closed on Sundays due to budget cuts. I found this baffling. We were in the process of building several new libraries, and shortening the hours on the ones we already had. The buildings and the books and the computers and the community resources and the librarians already existed - but we shut down the hours of operation to save a few operating bucks. Seemed so short sighted. So...mean.
Well in @MayorOliviaChow's first budget, she's opening libraries on Sundays. And extending hours. The nearly decade-long hiatus is over.
This is an investment in our quality of life.

Exciting news for Cnd Educators! 📢 We have teamed up with @ssencressc to bring you 3 "Learning About Trust" lesson plans for students. Funded by @BruceM1, our Chair, these plans aim to teach students about #trust & the crucial role it plays in society. https://t.co/98xTtAMcS3
Metal Zicla platform ramps have been replaced with modular plastic ramps at locations on Bloor, Danforth & Yonge for increased durability and traction. The new design is based on feedback from Toronto & other winter cities. Remainder will be replaced in Jan '24.📸J.Richards/Guild
A developer wanted a 3 year shut down of the Yonge bike lane for a construction staging area. This would’ve been unsafe & unacceptable. I’m delighted to report that, working creatively with both the applicant & city staff, housing will be built while keeping the bike lane open.
What happens when you send four reporters to race across King Street using four different methods of transportation during rush hour? Well, read our story to find out: https://t.co/XnkBrIN25f via @TorontoStar@thatemfagan@calvi_leon@lexharvs

Tomorrow night, the #CityofTO is hosting the first of four public drop-in sessions to receive feedback on planned bikeways between 2025-2027. Visit https://t.co/aNf8NX0z3j to learn more about drop-in dates and locations, and how you can share your input online. #BikeTO
We did not pass #Bill40 last night, but that does not mean the fight for safer roads is over.
The bill is up for a full vote on Monday. Please share your story. Tell your MPPs to get this passed.
We will not stop advocating for an Ontario where all road users are safe. #onpoli
There is ample room for safe biking infra to be added. ActiveTO bike lanes on Midtown Yonge should be quickly extended south to the lake, and bike lanes on five-lane Jarvis Street restored. Church and Bay should be remade as traffic-calmed boulevards with protected bike lanes.
#ClientLove Congratulations to @queensu for a transformational $100 million donation from Stephen J. R. Smith and a new name - Smith Engineering @SmithEngQueens! We’re honoured to support you in this exciting chapter. Cha Gheill!
Data breaches and cyberattacks are on the rise. Today's organizations need both the art of #communication and the science of #DataSecurity. #Client@orangeklaxon from @TrendMicro and Proof Strategies' @KarishmaSi35936 have tips for business leaders: https://t.co/cGKwlCCLk5
As #Halloween approaches, kids will not doubt be shouldered w a disproportionate amount of responsibility for road safety by police & politicians. Kids shouldn't need hi vis vests to trick or treat safely. Target those most responsible for harm if you actually want safe streets.
To folks who ask me: “I wonder if ChatGPT can ______”
TEST IT OUT.
It takes 5 seconds. You need to get into the habit of AI experimentation, especially since these tools come with zero instruction manual. Use your creativity. Have a glass of wine and think big.
8+ cyclists taking up less space than two single occupancy SUVs. The midtown Yonge bike lane project is getting people moving. We need more of this infrastructure, ensuring it’s better protected with permanent barriers, not just paint and flimsy, low concrete dividers. #BikeTO
