Challenger of life, varied career - including uniforms, genuinely nice human, literal thinker. Free hugs, kind, caring, off the wall crazy sense of humour.
For those of you who don’t know my parents are 94 (Dad) and 91(Mum) and they now live with Scott and I. They need help on a daily basis due to health reasons and age.
So I’ve decided to do some posts (on my Instagram) about looking after my parents. A lot of people take care of their ageing parents and I thought some posts about it might help other people who are doing the same. The little things you have to deal with and can sometimes be fun but also can sometimes be a challenge. If your interested pop over to my insta.

Jimmy Carr just gave teenage boys (and honestly, a lot of grown men) the rawest dating truth they need right now:
Girls aren’t looking for looks — they’re looking for competence.
He breaks it down with zero filter:
“You think because you look for looks in a girl, she’ll look for looks in you. She’s not. What women like is competence. And it takes a while to get competent.”
That’s why billionaires and boiler-fixers both turn heads — both demonstrate mastery. Both get shit done.
Carr’s direct advice to any young guy still figuring it out:
“Get your shit together. Stop asking what you want in the world and start thinking about what you can offer.”
No pickup lines. No games.
Just brutal, timeless clarity.
Fellas — what’s one skill or area of competence you’re actively building right now to become that guy?
You destroyed a library. It was MORE than a library, it was a food bank, a source of heat for people in the winter, a place for kids from low income families to use the internet, or do their homework. Why destroy something so vital? Yeah you’re so patriotic guys.
We're wishing PD Vixen from Staffordshire Police a speedy recovery after he was hit just above the eye with a brick at yesterday's incidents of violent disorder. Thank you for your service and bravery Vixen. 💙🐶🇬🇧
Wise words indeed! My journey thru my life has been interesting, challenging, diverse, polar opposites of what l thought l would be doing and when. Life isn’t like that. I’m so glad l achieved so much by being flexible and
embracing new opportunities.
The other day, I was talking to an old friend about our meandering vocational paths. She is trained as a microbiologist and lives in Switzerland. But over the last decade, she has wandered through different academic and commercial research jobs, never feeling as though she found her place and growing more despondent about it with each passing year.
I reminded her of my tortuous path and that I had often struggled with those same feelings over the last three decades. But I suggested that maybe people like us were just meant to be wanderers with no home but the journey, sampling many different experiences.
It's easy to get caught up in "shoulds," including what the structure and arc of our lives should look like. But the truth is, there are as many valid paths through life as there are people, and most of those paths may not look much like what our culture says they should. That's fine. I've slowly come to accept that and enjoy my life as a wanderer.
Maybe my friend will come to the same relationship with life that I have, or maybe she'll find a place to settle, but I think I helped her to see that either way can be perfectly valid.
@lindmilk There are no words to ease the pain that lives with you forever. RIP young man and sending his parents and family all my love and biggest hugs ever 🤗🤗🤗😢😢😢🏴
@Lordflashh3art @BenjaminDeRebel @Jeremy_Hunt But the issue is ‘WILL IT BE ENOUGH?’ to beat Labour getting in?’ I’m totally with you re Reform but it will have to be a MAHOOSIVE vote for Reform to take out both Labour and Tory…. https://t.co/yY3q07IgSh
It feels great to know that someone who doesn't normally read literary fiction, still adores your literary novel.
Audrey was one of those people.
And you never know: You might be one of those people too...
Go on! Give the book a go! It's a real beauty!
This is my response to Cllr KAMRAN GHAFOOR and his team of sectarian politicians in the ‘Oldham Group’. You must have me mistaken for the samosa nibbler JIM McMAHON. I don’t help cover up the gang rape of little girls any more than I do deals with Pakistani Cartels. See you at the ballot box.
