Attended the first ever Canadian global investment confrence in #Toronto. It was like @ABCSharkTank The premiers of each province were pitching investors their deals. Everyone asked the same question. What is the path to permit? The country is trying to emerge out of an economic coma because foreign investment in new infrastructure ground to a halt over the last decade. I predict two provinces will be the winners of this pitch competition. #Alberta with oil and an abundance of low cost natural gas electrical generation projects and #2 #Saskatchewan with mega #potash and #uranium deals. The rest of the provinces did a poor job articulating the timeline to permit on their projects. You can't invest if it takes decades. #IRR is all about time. Prime Minister @MarkJCarney has his work cut out for him!

Mark Carney could not be more out of touch.

With Canadians missing meals and mortgage payments, and days before he addresses the European Parliament (instead of the Canadian Parliament) we learn in a foreign newspaper of secret talks to make Canada an "Associate Member" of the European Union.

This is not about diversifying trade: we have had tariff-free trade with Europe for over a decade. They would buy more of our goods today if the Liberal government would get out of the way and permit mines, pipelines, LNG plants to produce and ship them.

Canadians deserve answers: Is the WSJ report true about associate membership in the EU?

If so, will European border policies apply in Canada, further overwhelming our immigration system while our youth can’t find homes?
Will Canadian waitresses struggling with rent have to pay tax dollars to the bloated EU bureaucracy?

Will Canadian small businesses be buried under the red tape of Eurocrats that have never met a Canadian entrepreneur?

All questions I’d ask in Parliament, but it is shuttered.

And one more: who decides for Canada?

The Welland welder did not elect a Eurocrat to regulate our steel. The Saskatchewan farmer and the Atlantic fisherman did not choose a Brussels agrifood regulator that has never even seen our prairies or coasts.

We will NEVER be the 51st U.S. state. And we will NEVER be the 28th EU state.

We are Canadians. This is our home, our freedom, our sovereignty, our people.

to milk 50 cows, and start a dairy farm.

This is just for PERMISSION.

This is BEFORE you buy the land the cows, the barn etc.

Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable?
