If golf were invented today…

No way in hell the dress code would include:

•collars
•belts
•pleats
•khakis
•“tucked in” anything

We’d be wearing flex-fit, moisture-wicking athletic shirts like every other sport.

Golf is the only sport where formality survived long after function left the chat.

P.S. - for those long time lovers of the collar and ones who argue it’s part of the game…here is a little history…collars were never designed for golf.

They were designed for class signaling.**

Nothing more.

Collars aren’t functional. They aren’t performance driven. They don’t help a golf swing. They don’t keep you cool. They don’t protect anything.

They’re literally just leftover fashion from a time when men wore suits to do everything.
