باید پوست سیرها را بگیرم. دو کارتن در یک روز. بعد بروم سراغ گونی‌های پیاز. سر و تهشان را بزنم. پوستشان را بگیرم. دو گونی در یک روز. بعدتر نوبت گرفتن آب پیازها می‌شود. این وسط بار هم اگر بیاید، من را صدا می‌کنند. گوشت، مر�� و گونی و کارتن را روی کولم میندازم و می‌برم سردخونه. تمام این کارها برای یک روز است.
پوست گرفتن سیر به این راحتی نیست. سیرها میرن زیر ناخن‌هام. می‌سوزند. دستم زخم می‌شود و بوی سیر و پیاز می‌گیرد. هیکلم پر از بوی گوشت و عرق می‌شود. بوی روغن و گرما.
غروب که به خانه بر می‌گردم، سعی می‌کنم از آدمها فاصله بگیرم چون بو می‌دهم. چون دستانم زخم است و خسته‌ام. از خودم. از همه.
به خانه که میرسم، حوصله هیچ چیز را ندارم. می‌خوابم. به خودم فکر میکنم که چرا اینطور شده است. خوابم می‌برد و نیمه شب بیدار می‌شوم. کمی چک کردن خبرها و گشت زدن در شبکه‌های اجتماعی و دوباره خواب. نمی‌خواهم دوباره صبح شود تا برم برای حمالی.
نه اینکه کار کردن عار باشد. نه. اصلا. ایراد ندارد. اما روح و روانم پر از خراش است. زخمی. خط خطی.
راستش فکر می‌کردم جایی برای من در رسانه‌��ا باشد. تا بتوانم کار خودم را داشته باشم. همان کاری که بلد هستم. همیشه انجام داده‌ام. به هرکس که فکرش را بکنید رو زدم. اما شاید داستان از این قرار است که در اکثر موارد، باید عضو دسته و گروهی باشی که کارها برایت راحت‌تر شوند. آن وقت همه چیز فرق می‌کند. مثلا مهم نیست در ایران کارت چه بوده و چقدر تجربه در کار رسانه داشته‌ای و یا اصلا تا به حال یک تحریریه را از نزدیک دیده‌ای یا نه یا حتی می‌توانی چند پاراگراف بنویسی یا نه. درها به رویت باز می‌شوند. برایت کار پیدا می‌شود. یا بگذریم از اینکه اگر بر و رویی داشته باشی، کارها راحت‌تر برایت پیش می‌روند.
من اما هیچکدام را نداشتم. نه عضویتی و نه بر و رویی. تجربه‌ای هم در کار دیگری نداشتم. برای همین حالا سیرها را پوست می‌گیرم و به این فکر می‌کنم که چرا باید در سی و چند سالگی، سیر یا پیاز پوست بکنم. البته که زمان خوبی برای فکر کردن است. به دورها. به نزدیک‌ها. به همه چیز. دانه دانه حبه‌های سیر، فرصتی کافی برای فکر کردن است تا قبل از فرا رسیدن سوزش دست‌ها. بعد می‌شود عذاب. فحش به عالم و آدم. به ��مهوری اسلامی. می‌شود تنفر و کینه.
حقیقتا این روزها غمگین هستم. دست و دلم به هیچ‌ کاری نمی‌رود. از جارو کردن، تمیزکاری، پوست گرفتن، حمالی کردن. چطور بگویم؟ خود واقعی‌ام نیستم. همان که کتاب می‌خواند. فیلم می‌دید. می‌نوشت. دوست و رفیق زیادی داشت. خوشتیپ می‌رفت سرکار و خوشتیپ بر می‌گشت. میدانم همیشه یکسان نباشد حال دوران اما، متوجه نمیشم که چرا باید برای من به این شکل باشد. چرا من باید در موقعیتی قرار بگیرم که سر غذا توبیخ شوم و یا با حالت تحقیرآمیزی، بی‌عقل خطاب شوم. مثلا من که هیچ وقت چشمم دنبال غذا نبوده، فردای روزی که به من دو ظرف غذا داده بودند تا با خودم به خانه ببرم، توبیخ شوم و ازم سوال شود که حتما خواستی سواستفاده کنی. نباید شکمو باشی و یادت باشد که هر کارگر یک ظرف غذا می‌تواند ببرد و چیزهایی از این دست. من هم بگویم بله. قصد سواستفاده نداشتم اما معذرت می‌خواهم.
جانم به لبم می‌رسد که چرا باید برای چنین چیزهایی صحبت کنم. چرا باید بار تحقیر را به دوش بکشم. چرا این حجم از تحقیر. چرا من!
بعد تا شب تا فردا و تا روزهای بعد همه چیز بوی مرگ می‌دهد. بوی بی‌حوصلگی و چرک. بوی پوسیدگی.
خیلی دورتر به رفیق‌هایم در موقعیت‌های مختلف، می‌گفتم اینها همش خاطره میشه. حالا اما خسته و درمانده‌ام از این خاطرات. نمی‌خواهم این چنین خاطراتی داشته باشم.
لعنت به این زندگی انگلی ما خاورمیانه‌ای‌ها... این رنج دائمی.
