"Which journals have a fast turnaround time?" is a frequent question in academia. Most of the time, people answer based on anecdotes (or grudges). My lab at Cornell decided to build a Chrome plugin, what we are calling Coauthor, to crowdsource an answer: https://t.co/CPPRCQszgp
If you would like to contribute data, you can download the Coauthor plugin from the Google Chrome store:

We also have a step-by-step guide to using the plugin on our website: https://t.co/VHMwUYGQXE

We use these data to calculate the average (and standard deviation) days to first decision, percentage of initial submissions that receive an R&R, and the conditional acceptance percentage based on receiving a first R&R. These data are available at: https://t.co/CPPRCQszgp
This paper helps us understand how the gig economy is creating new relationships across organizations. Some of these relationships are adversarial and show how the design of gig work can contribute to undesirable behaviors, such as customer incivility...
In identifying how platforms shape workers' exposure to market risk, this paper helps answer the question -- what distinguishes gig platforms from other types of platforms -- and shows how platforms can use their "visible hands" to shape worker behavior.

Custodians of the Internet (@TarletonG) has been one of the most important influences on my research. I still remember reading "And moderation is, in many ways, the commodity that platforms offer." Platforms are not neutral; their primary role is to curate the user experience.
...these behaviors are "pushed" to the periphery by platforms' "visible hands". For example, Instacart's "diamond shopper" status gives some workers early access to high value work, reducing the chances these workers will take low-value jobs.
