@andrewc44104127 He's a mediocre comedian still pulling the same stupid expressions he did was he was little more than a teenager. He hasn't changed much except now he's also a self-important, pompous political activist. Figures.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. There's more going on here than I think you realise. This isn't just about Iran. This is about frustrating the British Govt's efforts to provoke WW3 with Russia. Without diesel supplies the UK/EU proxy war with Russia will simply grind to a halt. Trump knows the only way to halt the Ukraine war is to stop those who are doing everything in their power to prolong it. Hint; thats not Russia!
@TheLastRefuge2 Yet an AI programmed for maximalist truth seeking, like Grok, is well aware of media biases from left or right and will happily point those out to you. So your point, such as it is, is also irrelevant.
@SthFLTrader@THR Yep, it was always about CNN. Everything else was a smokescreen. If the left lose CNN they lose THE major propaganda outlet for the Democrats. Those were the stakes and although we need to see the details it looks as though they've lost. Good.
@JonathanTurley I find it ironic that Turley rails against what he terms The Age of Rage, whilst completely oblivious to the self-evident truth that the media he defends here are the prime drivers of that rage.
I don't agree with this at all. Iran has been attempting to enrich uranium to build nuclear weapons. Their spokesman have been vocal about using nukes against their enemies if they get them. If the price for preventing that is a temporary spike in petrol prices then I'd argue it's a price worth paying given the alternative. You know what the Iranian regime is like. Do you seriously want these maniacs to have nukes? I agree with Lowe and Restore on just about everything but on this you are seriously mistaken. We should be supporting the Trump administration here and explaining to people the necessity thereof, not whining about fucking petrol prices.
It's hard to take them seriously when they keep changing their tune like this. People are beginning to sus that Reform will say whatever people want to hear but don't mean it. Contrast that with Rupert Lowe and Restore. Nobody seriously believes those guys are not going to do exactly what they say when they get into power. Lowe's defense today of those protesters for wearing masks took some serious balls given how every other MP and the MSM were pushing the "They're disgusting thugs.." line. But Lowe would not bend the knee. Well good for him. That's the kind of guy I want to see leading a political party to power.
Dan, people's patience is all but exhausted with the Establishment whatever supposed side they're on. If you can't recognise that fact but simply default to a "But they'll come back to Burnham when push comes to shove!" then you do not understand the level of frustration out there. We're tired of reading about all the rapes, stabbings and murders invariably carried out by third world savages. Last night's events in Portsmouth, my god, you had coaches, food, clothes and accommodation laid on and waiting for these illegal immigrants. This was not a rescue operation as some in the media have claimed but a deliberate attempt to import immigrants in the middle of the night without anybody knowing. The Government wants these people here and in vast numbers. The public don't. No amount of gobshite metropolitan liberals calling them racist, fretting about masks and calling them Hitler is going to change that. We're heading towards a tipping point.
The book is great! But the book also underlines my argument. In King's novel the child is the central figure. It's his supernatural ability to 'Shine'- The Shining of the title - that is the conduit through which all the bad stuff happens. But Kubrick mostly junks all that. The Redrum reveal in the movie is a chilling moment but why/how does the child have this ability? The book explains all this, the film can't be bothered. Like everything in Kubrick's movie stuff happens but it's all there for show, there's no substance behind it.
Totally agree with Connor on this. Even if postpartum depression was the motive how on earth can that excuse the crime of killing three children? It's like saying X killed Y because Y stole X's boyfriend. Ok, that might be the motive but you still have to pay for the crime! If that woman gets away with this on the basis of what was motivating her it sets a truly fearful precedent.
@JohnCleese John, does it not trouble you, even a bit, that your little hero Zelensky refuses to allow democratic elections in his country because he fears the result?
