our new article just dropped! If you've ever wondered how machine learning models in medicine account for trans and non-binary people, you'll want to check it out
@CellCellPress It includes a Commentary from 24 transgender (and/or family of trans) scientists discussing the experiences of sex and gender minorities in STEMM and offering actions to help build a more inclusive academia and produce more accurate and rigorous science: https://t.co/pXOzEpq75e

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about what it is like teaching at a small liberal arts college, especially if you are coming from a R1 or technical institution. Many of us are here!
Swarthmore College Engineering is hiring for a tenure track position in our department!
We are looking for faculty who are excited about teaching in a general engineering program and are recruiting from a wide range of disciplines.

Had a blast at EMBC2023. Here are some of my favorite shots with Beamie the Biomedical Engineering Koala.
Beamie joined us on the ferry to Manly past the opera house, at the Botanical Gardens, and at the Women's World Cup! #BioMedEngKoala#itsgottobeSydney@TyreeIHealthE
While the positions we are offering now are temporary, we hope to get approved this spring to launch another tenure-track search next year. Anyone we hire as a visitor would be in a strong position to apply for a future TT position when it becomes available.
Swarthmore Engineering is hiring for two visiting positions! These are two year positions, with a preference for individuals who can teach Mechanical and Electrical engineering. Bonus points if you can teach design and social impacts of tech: https://t.co/ZTwBsx72vT
Our department recently moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art science building, and new faculty members have access to multiple sources of internal funding for research support.
@cococ_rr@cortexfutura @CatoMinor3 @RoamResearch We have done something like this, the anchor back to the text is nice to have but not essential.
We’ve also tried taking the whole text itself and putting that in Roam, but I prefer reading in the PDF form.
@cococ_rr@cortexfutura @CatoMinor3 @RoamResearch Def +1 on new zotero. I think I agree with @cortexfutura that roam/Tana don’t need native pdf highlighting for me. When something is really tough, I do supplement it, but more notes or working it out on paper work well for me.
@NickMilo learning keyboard shortcuts, and your suggested configuration, was very helpful. An update for new workflow w/ tabs would be great (I still use your cmd+1, cmd+2, cmd+3 shortcuts, but I had to unmap all the new tab ones to keep using them)
