@aei_sci Have you been using SnapGene to do it manually? If so, which cloning techniques have you been using without getting SnapGene to do the primer design?
@ditlevbrodersen @biologistninja @SnapGene I mean at what level of differences - like do you mean difference in the features that are or aren't present on the file, or differences in the actual sequence? Or something else?
@jaysundj @drbehardisty @mildanalyst I personally find myself far less trusting of people who reach a conclusion and never question it, and far more trusting of people who continue to question, and are prepared to admit if they were wrong about something.
@jaysundj @drbehardisty @mildanalyst The Fact that the polio vaccine stops people getting a severe and debilitating disease is unchanged and an excellent thing. That scientists continue to question and gain deeper understanding of how this is achieved is also excellent, and a good basis for trust in my opinion.
@VeritasNZ @NeilDadson @MatthewHootonNZ Having grown up as the kid of a boat builder who worked on America's Cup yachts I can assure you there are plenty of people who aren't rich involved. And some pretty damn cool technological advances being developed too. Personally I like it for the science.
@VeritasNZ @NeilDadson @MatthewHootonNZ I've never understood this rich person's sport thing. All elite professional sports teams cost a fortune to run...and the original Black Magic wasn't some beat up runabout.
@gadmark@will_barrcode@SnapGene@zotero@BioRender I ask this every time (and am collecting the responses) ... Why? What SnapGening do you want to do on an iPad? Instead of or as well as a laptop/pc? And do you take your iPad into the lab?
@HamidKian10 @SnapGene Glad you like it ๐ And loving the colour scheme for your features! You can now save the gel as a .gel by the way (in SnapGene 6.0 which was released earlier this week) ...
@acritschristoph @Archaeon_Alex@codebiologist@Dr_AlphaLyrae@ATinyGreenCell@macroliter I mean everyone is a hypocrite sometimes :)... I've not read much from your link yet, but the idea that software can be copied & modified seems to go for things like music as well... & I guess sequences. Not sure where I think the line should be. Thanks for the reading :).
@Archaeon_Alex @acritschristoph @codebiologist@Dr_AlphaLyrae@ATinyGreenCell@macroliter My interpretation was that this sub-thread was about both products actually. But you're right - I wasn't clear with my post what I was talking about, and I should have been. I apologise for that.
@Archaeon_Alex @acritschristoph @codebiologist@Dr_AlphaLyrae@ATinyGreenCell@macroliter Actually, one last thing. My job is to look at user feedback, industry trends and the business' goals to work out what we should do next for SnapGene. I can do that better if you let me know what you want! So please use Help -> Make a Suggestion (in SnapGene) and let us know :D
@Archaeon_Alex @acritschristoph @codebiologist@Dr_AlphaLyrae@ATinyGreenCell@macroliter So in summary, thanks for my awesome SnapGene T-shirt that I guess your subscriptions paid for :D ... and I can't WAIT to get back into the office (it's in NZ, not the Bay area, for the record) because I'm really not cut out for working from home.
