The Monaco Plane: Economics and Impact.
If you've been in SF over the last 10 days, you've likely seen the Monaco Plane flying around. I'm receiving countless messages asking about how expensive it is and if it's working.
So here are those answers:
@sama Love it. Some suggestions, Sam, I think OpenAI should 100x your influencer marketing on X, Threads, TikTok, and YouTube.
Also, we can improve your billboard ads. Right now, your billboards in SF are a little bit artsy-fartsy. Should make them crisper!
We help you get your company names up on premium billboards along 101. โ putting your brand in front of investors, customers, and the entire Silicon Valley ecosystem. Visit https://t.co/vgbWX75mH9 or just DM
This is how you nail customer acquisition in the AI era. Digital ads aren't working anymore because they are mostly AI-generated slop.
Physical billboards are the new game in town. Let me know if you want to target your customers in the Bay Area.
We spent $15,000 on billboards targeting one person: the guy controlling all the chemical spend at a saltwater disposal company in Texas. We mapped his commute and bought every billboard between his house and the oil field. When we finally called, he said "I see your billboards everywhere." That landed us our first oil field contract. At the time our entire operation was a $10,000 reactor built from PVC pipes from Home Depot, turning corn sugar into industrial chemicals. People keep trying to throw it away. It still works. That leaking reactor started a multibillion-dollar company. @ycombinator visited our plant in Houston. The original PVC reactor is still on the floor next to the Bioforge.
