Most of the medical staff and patients had left Al Shifa hospital, as the Israeli occupation army ordered everyone to evacuate the hospital. Many patients can not leave the hospital as they are in the ICU beds or the baby incubators.

I along with 5 other doctors, will stay at Alshifa hospital with 120 patients (as patients can not leave due to their health conditions). We call the @ICRC @ICRC_ilot @WHO to take action to protect the medical staff and patients at Al Shifa hospital.

I didn't think much of it at the time, but I was proud to send in a photo that represented who I am – a Muslim woman in a hijab, standing in my research lab. After only three days (Mar 30, 2023), I received the results: I was rejected, without any explanation or feedback.

I chose not to submit a photo. Three days before the announcement of the results on March 27, 23, I received a request to submit a photograph of myself. I was enthusiastic because, it seemed like a positive sign indicating that I might be among the selected fellows.

I recently paid $7000-8000 to move from NY to Boston for my postdoc.

Two months of rent, furniture, moving truck, etc. My institution also required strict documentation of my PhD conferral before I could go on payroll, which added a LOT of financial stress.
