@unclebobmartin It’s a false dichotomy. Nobody builds a 'wholly negative' suite. TDD defines intent, and mutation analysis audits its blind spots. Once a gap is exposed, that test becomes an intentional regression contract. Discarding it just invites regressions back in.

@martinfowler TDD can over-constrain agents around the red/green cycle, while too much freedom can lead to over-implementation.

We’ve had good results giving agents functional test cases upfront and validating against them.

Maybe the key is defining what to expect and how to evaluate it.
