Zanzibar Maisha Bora Foundation (ZMBF), founded in 2021 by the First Lady of Zanzibar, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for women, youth & children
At ZMBF, we remain committed to ensuring that more girls have the knowledge, confidence, and menstrual health support they need to stay in school, pursue their education with dignity, and build brighter futures.
Through our Tumaini Initiative, we have now reached 61 schools across Unguja and Pemba, distributing more than 7,000 Tumaini Kits alongside menstrual health and hygiene education to thousands of school girls.
This important follow-up helps us understand the project's impact, measure its effectiveness, and identify opportunities to improve future interventions so that every girl benefits even more.
Our recent Board of Trustees Meeting was chaired by H.E. Mariam H. Mwinyi, First Lady of Zanzibar, and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of ZMBF and brought together our distinguished Board members whose diverse expertise and leadership continue to strengthen the Foundation’s.
It is important for us to regularly convene our Board of Trustees to provide strategic oversight, review progress, and ensure our programmes remain responsive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Afisa Mtendaji Mkuu wetu, Bi.
