I struggle with this take.. because on one hand, he’s right .. but on the other, users *need* to learn to care about these things and just because they’re not expressing desire for these things doesn’t mean we should give up on providing it on their behalf because 1/ Unfortunately many users have to be protected from themselves (ie the need for gambling laws/protection.. etc etc) and 2/ many aren’t sophisticated enough to understand the ramifications of not caring (and may never be)

- data sovereignty
- privacy
- censorship resistance
- self-custody

what ogs thought was unimportant or at least were too embarrassed to admit but the average user cares about:

- how to turn $20 into 8 figures
