🚨The recent images of Dr. Hussam Abu Safyia are shocking evidence of Israel's abuse against Palestinian detainees. Dr. Abu Safyia has been arbitrarily detained for one and a half years without charges, while being physically abused and denied healthcare. His recent solitary confinement adds a further layer of concerns over his deteriorating health. Dr. Abu Safyia must be immediately and unconditionally released. Israel must release all Palestinians arbitrarily detained. States must pressure Israel to stop abusing Palestinian prisoners.

“The EU’s focus on unanimity voting is a distraction—and arguably an excuse for inaction. While consensus remains a prerequisite for foreign policy decisions, meaningful action can be taken in areas such as trade through Qualified Majority Voting (QMV). Under this procedure, measures require the support of only 55% of member states representing at least 65% of the EU’s population. Unlike foreign policy decisions, a single government cannot veto action, which the EU can use to its benefit to put pressure on Israel.”
Video after video shows Israeli settlers violently harassing and attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, seizing their livestock, bulldozing their schools, setting fire to their property and even killing Palestinians as part of a brutal campaign to forcibly displace Palestinians and expand control over the land – with full political and financial backing from the highest authorities of the Israeli state.
This is what a policy of state-led ethnic cleansing looks like.

Our latest report “Erasing anything Palestinian: Israel's ethnic cleansing of West Bank Bedouin and herding communities” exposes the scale of Israel’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and unlawful annexation in the occupied West Bank.

Generative AI doesn’t run on magic. It runs on massive data pipelines built on privacy violations by design.
Our new @Amnesty report exposes how big tech’s AI systems are powered by surveillance, data extraction, and abuse of people’s rights, at scale.
We researched the models powering some of the most popular publicly available standalone generative AI tools, including GPT 3 by Open AI, Google’s Gemini, Meta’s Llama, DeepSeek and tools by Midjourney and Stable Diffusion.
This is not innovation at any cost. It comes at a high price: our human rights.

This research by Queen Mary University of London should be a wake up call for the UK government and judicial institutions:
286 political prisoners in Britain, held in relation to their activism for Palestinian rights or against fossil fuel.
Prison sentences for acts of direct action or civil disobedience (which were once rare) are now being imposed with increasing length and frequency.
In Great Britain.

For Palestinians, everyday is Nakba Day. For 78 years, Israel has denied Palestinians their right to return home - violating international law and UN resolutions. Dispossession, displacement, and fragmentation continue to define Palestinian lives.
Failure to suspend Israel from Eurovision, as it continues to commit genocide in Gaza, unlawful occupation and apartheid against Palestinians, is an act of cowardice and double standards. #HumanityMustWin

🚨 URGENT: An Israeli court has ordered the continued detention of Saif Abu Keshek and Thiago Ávila for an additional two days, yet another example of how the Israeli judicial system is used to legitimize arbitrary detention rather than curb it.
@amnesty has repeatedly exposed how Israeli military and civilian courts facilitate grave human rights violations, including torture, prolonged arbitrary detention, and the punishment of human rights defenders, especially Palestinians and those who show solidarity with them.
These courts are not safeguards; they are an integral part of the machinery of occupation and apartheid.
The ongoing detention of Saif and Thiago is illegal and retaliatory. Their detention fits a widely documented pattern in which Israel criminalizes peaceful activism and uses baseless "security" accusations to silence dissent.
States must not remain passive. Spain and Brazil have an obligation to protect their nationals from arbitrary detention and abuses. The governments of @sanchezcastejon and @LulaOficial must continue to act with urgency, demand constant access, and ensure the immediate release of their citizens.
The lack of intervention amounts to tolerating violations of international law. At a time when the @CIJ_ICJ has affirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation, the inaction of states is not neutrality: it is complicity.
By putting the EU-Israel trade deal before human life, the EU puts profit before people. Italy and Germany continue to block the suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
But change is vital. One million people in Europe, 75 NGOs, 400 diplomats and officials, Belgium, Ireland, Slovenia and Spain are calling for the suspension of the EU-Israel trade agreement.

🚨France’s decision to deny entry to Shawan Jabarin, veteran Palestinian human rights leader and General Director of @AlHaq_org, is a blatant assault on human rights.
At @Amnesty, we join our sister organizations, including @fidh_en, @ASF_NGO, @EuroMedRights, in condemning this grave assault on the right to defend human rights and access international advocacy spaces.
This decision cannot be seen in isolation. It reflects a widening campaign to criminalize Palestinian civil society, from travel bans and smear campaigns to US sanctions imposed on @AlHaq_org, @AlMezanCenter and @pchrgaza for their legitimate engagement with the @IntlCrimCourt. Punishing organizations for documenting atrocities and seeking justice is a direct attack on international law and the global human rights system.
#France must immediately reverse this decision, allow Shawan Jabarin to travel freely, and reject all attempts to undermine Palestinian human rights organizations under the guise of security. Silencing those who document crimes only entrenches impunity. https://t.co/JbtSH8IXxx
🇪🇺🇮🇱 Is the EU finally ready to listen?

The Global Sumud Flotilla will once again set sail in a coordinated civilian initiative aim at breaking Israel’s unlawful blockade on the occupied Gaza Strip. It is a powerful symbol of international solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, who are enduring an ongoing genocide and an inhumane blockade now approaching its 19th year. Israeli authorities must ensure safe passage for these unarmed activists and human rights defenders.
The Spring 2026 flotilla arrives amid a dire humanitarian crisis. Six months on since the so-called ceasefire agreement in October 2025 and despite a reduction in the scale of attacks, Israel persists in its genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza by continuing to deliberately inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction.
Breaking: Today's mass arrests of peaceful protesters in Trafalgar Square under UK terrorism law are yet another blow to civil liberties in this country - and made all the more outrageous by the Metropolitan Police's own U-turn.
The High Court ruled in February that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful.
The Met rightly said it would stop making arrests. It has now gone back to its old, failed policy - mass arrests of people holding pieces of card, including today an elderly woman with walking sticks.
This is not policing. This is the state criminalising dissent.
Take action now with thousands of other Amnesty International supporters and sign the petition to end all prosecutions against these peaceful protesters.
