@KanekoaTheGreat But Grok 4.7 is also devoid of any personality. It is like taking to Mr. Roboto. It lacks common sense. If they could give it some personality (and keep it politically neutral), it would be better.
Chris Christie has made the same argument that you're making. But Social Security has operated as a Pay-As-You-Go system since 1939 (Social Security Amendments of 1939). That is the way it has to operate since a fully funded trust of that size is not workable and would have negative economic impacts.
@StockSavvyShay That wasn't paraphrased clearly. Here is the quote from Morgan Stanley’s Adam Jonas: "I regularly present to large groups of clients and ask the room: 'Who here owns SpaceX shares?' Last night, when I did that in front of 40 clients, not a single hand went up."
@jsolomonReports They should call this Act the "Morning Darkness Extension Act." Last time this bad idea was tried, public approval plummeted quickly, and Congress voted to repeal the measure, ending the experiment by July 1974 before its scheduled two-year trial was complete.
@BreannaMorello@AmericanAir This is hilarious. I had almost the same thing happen to me. I went to the flight attendant to see if there were any other available seats and she instead came over and admonished the fellow that he needed to put the armrests down, which made me look like I ratted him out.
@WallStreetMav If you could have an incentive both ways, it would be better. And $5 million is too much. Maybe $1.5 million. As long as they didn’t put into effect any new or increased taxes.
@RonDeSantis Here everyone was thinking that AI would be used to improve diagnoses and improve medical care. But when you deal with doctors, you can clearly see it is not being used for that purpose.
@DrJMarine Your statement below (“Medical societies will be more responsive to feedback from physicians than govt.) unfortunately has not been the case in the recent past. And that’s because a large part of their funding does not come from the professionals they represent.
@RonDeSantis SpaceX is foremost an aerospace manufacturer and launch provider, not a software or internet company like the classic “tech IPO” cohort in the comparison.
@marcportermagee Ineffective use of classroom time makes homework more necessary. Studies of public schools found only about 1/4 of class time involved active reading, writing, or discussion. The remaining 3/4 consisted of listening, waiting, transitions, and classroom management.
@Girlpatriot1974 What makes it even more shocking is that the lawsuit states that Angela Lipps looks nothing like the actual culprit. There was no proper face-to-face human comparison done by investigators before they put her in jail. Incredible negligence by all involved.
@dancox4maryland How do you figure? Maryland fully exempts Social Security and Railroad Retirement benefits from state and local income tax. See Maryland Code, Tax-General § 10-207.
@AlecStapp This “guest essay” from Miriam Pawel is essentially a promo for her forthcoming book California Dreams: The Making and Remaking of the University of California.
@sfstandard@tgoetz Why would you want to get rid of recreation to build more high density housing. SF is already way too dense. Quality of life should be the number one priority.
@elonmusk@farzyness Could you make it so it doesn’t put the phrase, “Two things can be true at once…” in nearly every argument that it makes? And could you also make it so it doesn’t take every statement as a requirement for it to generate a contrarian position.
@DrDiGiorgio@FrankPallone The comparison is sloppy and not true. Many professions are paid after the service is rendered. And they face the same collection challenges.
@SarahisCensored The Massachusetts Trial Juror’s Handbook says that after discharge jurors may talk about the trial, but “…should avoid revealing … how any juror voted, or anything discussed during jury deliberations.”
