@sameQCU@mermachine It's going to be very difficult, though not impossible, to get an episode of Nuclear Techne, but pretty easier to get an episode of Reconciling Craft
@sameQCU@mermachine And I deeply regret this, I think it's due to the fact that our text conversations are usually bad, but I recently noticed it will probably go better in audio somehow (doesn't make sense). The other reason is that I'm still bad at prioritising tasks I don't viscerally want to do.
@sameQCU@powerbottomdad1 if you're willing to accept @sameQCU's call to reconciliation, it would be my duty to facilitate, mediate, and edit the episode.
@jessi_cata@cube_flipper its mass*energy*inverse kolmogorov of the mapping of the experience encoding (humans don't know their experience encoding but that's just an L for humans) from the underlying matter (or the expected noumena underlying the matter)
(this is how I answer the hard problem)
@jessi_cata@cube_flipper If you equate preference satisfaction with valence, which I do (but afaik cube doesn't), you can still compare them, by normalising the preference function (adding by the min value and dividing by the integral) and then weighting the whole thing with something like:
@cube_flipper It always seems that way. Though a large part of that would have been that it was entangled with this anthropocentrism assumption and the reason that was so endlessly mystifying was that it just wasn't justified at all.
@cube_flipper@qntm I wouldn't call anything I use anthropics.
But if you can't make your stuff good with rationalism (ie formalisation) then you've given up on ever really understanding what you're claiming well enough to debug it.
@cube_flipper It's a good question to contemplate. There's a way it could not be. But it probably is.
The measure is not observable from the inside (or in another sense, at all), and it's one of the reasons I gave up, because people've thought they're perceiving it from the inside for a while.
@michaelinioluwa You could talk about the evils of enclosing culture, IP slowing cultural evolution, a theft of potential stories, but HPMOR still happened, so I'm not sure this lands.
It's even possible that IP net accelerates culture by forcing abstraction.
@Gallus11B@LemurFTW I think they'd be okay if they took to the extent that they could start saying that marathon isn't an extraction shooter, that it merely contains one, and that its genre on the whole is incomprehensibly whacky in a way that's too entertaining to need to be coherent
@Gallus11B@LemurFTW There are so many clever/ambitious things marathon needs to do to work (separate pure pvp mode, factional politics as actual eve-level game systems), and I fear that none of them would make it more profitable
@josiah_mcmillan@PrinceVogel Ah, so some things initially had primitive cocoon-like constructions (like nests or hives) to molt or change internally, and then the molting moved more in the direction of being more vulnerable, and that enabled both intensifying cocoon strength and soupification.
